    摘要: A steel cord (200) is described that is simple and cost effective to produce while solving some particular problems for the reinforcement of elastomer belts such as timing belts or the like. The cord (200) is a single lay cord that comprises a core filament (202), around which a first layer and a second layer of filaments (204, 210, 212) is twisted, all filaments being twisted with the same lay length and direction. By appropriate choice of the lay length, the core filament diameter and the filament diameters of the first layer—the latter being larger or equal to the former—an aggregate gap can form in which intermittently a filament (210′) of the second layer gets entrained. This aggregate gap must be between 40 and 70% of the core filament diameter in order to obtain the desired effect of having a core filament (202) that is deformed with the same lay length and direction as the other filaments (204,210,212). A deformed core filament (202) suppresses the effect of core filament migration. In addition the exceptional rough aspect of the cord (200) leads to good mechanical anchorage in the elastomer. Also the load exerted on the cord (200) is better distributed over all filaments. The use of the cord is not limited to timing belts: an advantageous use of the cord in tyres, hoses, hoisting belts, drive belts and reinforcing strips is anticipated.

    摘要: A sling for industrial lifting made of a load-bearing core and a cover. The cover protects the plurality of yarns that make-up the core. Each core yarn is made of a number of core threads twisted together. The core yarns are twisted together where the twist is in the same direction as the individual core strands and a different direction than the twist of the cover. The present invention describes the method of twisting the core yarns together by inserting core yarns substantially parallel into a cover that has a twist opposite of each core strand. As the core strands are inserted into the cover, the twists of the individual core yarns interact with the twist of the cove, resulting in the core yarns twisting together.

    摘要: Disclosed is a fiber reinforced plastic wire used as the overhead transmission cable. The fiber reinforced plastic wire for a strength member of an overhead transmission cable according to the present invention includes a wire having a predetermined diameter and composed of thermoset matrix resin; and a plurality of high strength fibers dispersed parallel to a longitudinal direction in an inside of the wire, the high strength fibers being surface-treated with a coupling agent to improve interfacial adhesion to the matrix resin. The fiber reinforced plastic wire of the present invention has the high tensile strength at the room temperature and the high temperature since its high strength fiber is surface-treated with a coupling agent. The fiber reinforced plastic wire can be also effectively used as the strength member in the overhead transmission cable since it has the excellent low coefficient of thermal expansion, etc. and is light-weight.
