Abstract:
A method and apparatus for analyzing and formatting strings of data, such as data derived from software processes running on two data processors. In one embodiment, a plurality of different data strings are initialized building a symbol array, and finding differences within the data by analyzing various relationships within the data strings, such as the existence of unique strings. A computer program and apparatus for synthesizing logic implementing the aforementioned methodology are also disclosed.

Abstract:
A fuel dispenser having a server is disclosed. The fuel dispenser server is adapted to dynamically or periodically create electronic documents reflecting fuel dispenser data for viewing remote to the fuel dispenser. A network connection provides connectivity of the server to remote clients. The fuel dispenser with a server is relatively inexpensive to produce and is ideally suited for remote troubleshooting and for interaction with a dispenser customer.
Abstract:
A shopping receptacle, the shopping receptacle being adapted to receive and retain a product item, the product item having an interface surface associated therewith, the interface surface having disposed thereon or therein coded data including a plurality of coded data portions, each coded data portion being indicative of an identity of the product item, wherein the receptacle comprises: (a) a receptacle body adapted to receive and retain the product item and having an opening through which the product item may be placed within the receptacle body; and, (b) a sensing device adapted to: (i) emit at least one scanning beam across the opening of the receptacle body; (ii) sense at least one coded data portion on the interface surface of the product item as the product item is positioned in the receptacle opening; and (iii) generate, using the at least one sensed coded data portion, indicating data indicative of the identity of the product item.
Abstract:
An automated banking machine (10) is provided. The automated banking machine may include a fascia (50) in operative connection with a frame (110). The machine may include a plurality of hardware devices which are accessible through the fascia. The hardware devices may include a cash dispenser (24), receipt printer (20), and a card reader (22). The fascia may include replaceable bezels (550,552) with apertures therein for providing access to hardware devices. The bezels may be operative to float with respect to the fascia and hardware devices to automatically align hardware devices with the bezels. In addition the hardware devices may include movable portions which are operative to automatically align with the bezels. The bezels may include ramps, ribs, or other angled surfaces which guide the hardware devices into alignment with the openings in the bezels.
Abstract:
A storage compartment contains a variety of products. In a vending machine, once a product is selected at a product selection part, a dispense product determination part determines a product to dispense based on a selected product data from the product selection part, data on products contained in each storage compartment, and a product dispense rule. If a plurality of storage compartments can dispense a selected product, or, none of the first-to-be-dispensed products in any storage compartments matches the selected product, the vending machine determines a product to dispense based on a given product dispense rule.

Abstract:
An automatic package process for a card comprises stamping a metal belt to form two shells without leaving from the metal belt, injection molding two plastic frames onto the metal shells, respectively, and combining the plastic frames together to form a case. A package for a small card comprises two metal shells each having a thickness not larger than 0.15 mm, several stakes thereon and an inner surface coated with an insulator film thereon, and two plastic frames having a thickness not larger than 0.7 and 1.4 mm, respectively, injection molded onto the metal shells and embedding the stakes thereon, wherein the plastic frames are combined together by a glue or sonic welding.
Abstract:
An automated banking machine (10) includes a card reader (256) in the machine operative to receive cards from users. Cards that are to be captured and held in the machine are moved by the card reader to the interior of a bin (268). Cards entering the bin are engaged with and moved away from the card reader by action of a movable member (274). Authorized servicers recover captured cards from the bin by opening a lock (272) and accessing the interior of the bin by opening a lid (270). The user interface of the machine includes a movable fascia portion (240) that assures proper alignment of the fascia opening and card reader and also minimizes the risk of undetected installation of unauthorized card reading devices.
