摘要: In one embodiment of the present disclosure, an apparatus for securing a first object to a second object, including a deformable anchor body, a working suture connected to the anchor body, the working suture including a pre-formed knot, and a repair suture connected to the first object, wherein, with the anchor body connected to the second object and at least one of the anchor body and the working suture connected to the repair suture, the anchor body is adapted to secure within the second object and the working suture and repair suture are adapted to secure to the anchor body to secure the first object to the second object.

摘要: A medical device includes a surgical needle, an elongated suture, and an intervening segment. The elongated suture has a first end proximate to the needle and a second end located away from the needle. The elongated suture also includes a plurality of fibers defining a mesh wall between the first and second ends. A plurality of pores extend through the mesh wall, at least some which are in the macroporous size range of greater than 200 microns for facilitating tissue integration when introduced into a body. The intervening segment is disposed between and connected to either or both ends of the elongated suture and the needle. The intervening segment includes one or more fibers of the plurality of fibers and has a cross-sectional dimension smaller than a cross-sectional dimension of the mesh wall such that the intervening segment facilitates indirect attachment of the elongated macroporous mesh suture to the needle.

摘要: Systems are provided for securing tissue to bone. A suture anchor can include an elongate body having a proximal end and a distal end and an external surface with a plurality of longitudinally spaced bone-engaging features formed at least partially circumferentially thereon over at least a portion of a length of the suture anchor. The proximal end can have a lumen extending at least partially into the elongate body and the distal end can have a suture engaging feature proximate thereto. A first series of bone-engaging features can have a dimension that increases from a distal to a proximal end of each bone-engaging feature of the first series of bone-engaging features. A second series of bone-engaging features can have a dimension that decreases from a distal to a proximal end of each bone-engaging feature of the second series of bone-engaging features.

摘要: A surgical staple cartridge is disclosed comprising a plurality of staples removably stored within the surgical staple cartridge. The staples comprise staple legs which extend from a staple base portion. The staple legs comprise staple tips configured to pierce tissue and contact a corresponding forming pocket of an anvil of surgical stapling instrument. The staples further comprise zones having different hardnesses.

摘要: A suturing device includes a cannula, a needle pusher, an actuator mechanism and a brace. The cannula includes a proximal portion and a distal portion. The distal portion includes a more proximal section, a needle compartment and a curved section. The more proximal section is located nearest the proximal portion of the cannula. The needle compartment defines a needle passage terminating in a distal opening. The curved section is located between the needle compartment and the more proximal section. The needle pusher is provided at least in the distal portion. The actuator mechanism is operably connected with the needle pusher. The brace is on the distal portion connected with and spanning between the needle compartment and the more proximal section.

摘要: Among other things, there are disclosed embodiments of devices used for minimally-invasive treatments, such as treatment of mitral valves. In a system for placing an annuloplasty belt around the heart, embodiments for tensioning a suture associated with the belt are provided, as are embodiments of a suture lock for holding the suture with the applied tension. A delivery device that permits placement and tensioning of such a belt and activation of the suture lock in one procedure is also disclosed. Methods for making and using these features are also disclosed.

摘要: A medical/veterinary suture crimp tool includes a stationary jaw at a distal end of a fixed shank and having across its width and extending at least partially along its length spaced fixed crimp members including at least first, second, and third crimp members and a moveable jaw at a distal end of a linearly driven crossbar and having across its width and extending at least partially along its length, spaced crimp members including at least fourth, fifth, and sixth crimp members opposing, respectively, the first, second, and third crimp members of the stationary jaw. An alignment fiduciary is associated with said fifth crimp member of the stationary jaw for alignment with an alignment fiduciary of a crimp tube. A first handle is connected to the fixed shank and a second handle is pivotably connected to the fixed shank and configured to drive the crossbar linearly with respect to the fixed shank to fully crimp the crimp tube.
