Abstract:
Provided are an actuator latch apparatus and a hard disk drive (HDD) having the actuator latch apparatus. The HDD includes a spindle motor, a data storage disk which is installed on the spindle motor, an actuator which moves a read/write head to a desired position above the data storage disk, and the actuator latch apparatus which locks the actuator in a parking position. The actuator latch apparatus includes a notch which is formed at a rear end of a swing arm and a latch lever which is combined with and pivots on a pivot shaft installed on a base. A retractor member is installed on one of upper and lower surfaces of a counterbalance which is adjacent to a magnet, wherein the counterbalance is formed at a rear end of the latch lever. When the read/write head operates, the latch lever contacts an upper yoke or the base due to a vertical component force of a magnetic force working from the magnet to the retractor member, thereby liming a vertical vibration of the latch lever.

Abstract:
A method of determining positions of one or more error bits is disclosed. The method includes receiving a BCH codeword at input circuitry of a decoder device, establishing a threshold number of correctable bits, and determining from the received BCH codeword and a root of an encoder polynomial, a value of each of one or more syndromes. The number of the one or more syndromes is twice a maximum number of correctable bits in the received BCH codeword. When the maximum number of correctable bits in the received BCH codeword is less than the threshold number of correctable bits, the value of each coefficient in a scaled error locator polynomial is determined by performing a non-iterative, closed-form solution on the scaled error locator polynomial. The scaled error locator polynomial is an original error locator polynomial scaled by a constant scale factor. The constant scale factor is determined according to the value of each of the one or more syndromes. Having determined the value of each coefficient in the scaled error locator polynomial, one or more roots of the scaled error locator polynomial are obtained. Each of the one or more roots indicates a position of an error bit. A BCH decoder device that can implement the method and a digital circuit that preserves operations implementing the method are also disclosed.
Abstract:
In a method of forming a metal or metal nitride pattern, a metal or metal nitride layer is formed on a substrate, and a photoresist pattern is formed on the metal or metal nitride layer. An over-coating composition is coated on the metal or metal nitride layer and on the photoresist pattern to form a capping layer on the photoresist pattern. The over-coating composition includes a polymer having amine groups as a side chain or a branch and a solvent. A remaining portion of the over-coating composition is removed by washing with a hydrophilic solution. The metal or metal nitride layer is partially removed using the capping layer and the photoresist pattern as an etching mask.
Abstract:
Provided is a method of nitriding a surface of aluminum or aluminum alloy by cold spraying. That is, a surface of aluminum or aluminum alloy is coated by cold spraying, and then a heat treatment is performed thereon at low temperature for a short time period. Accordingly, the method is suitable for nitriding a surface of Al and Al alloy, which is very difficult to be nitrided, at low production costs. The method includes removing a foreign material from a surface of a mother substrate comprising Al or Al alloy; cold spraying 15 to 50 wt % of a catalyst powder and 50 to 85 wt % of a coating agent powder on the surface of the mother substrate to form a coating layer; and heat treating the coating layer at a temperature of 450 to 630° C. in a nitrogen atmosphere for 2 to 24 hours.
Abstract:
Described embodiments provide for handover in a long term evolution (LTE) communication network. A LTE macrocell base station may receive a measurement report from user equipment while providing a communication service to the user equipment located within a service area of the LTE macrocell base station, and determine whether or not the neighbor cell is a LTE macrocell or a LTE femtocell based on the measurement report. The LTE macrocell base station may initiate hand-over of the user equipment to a neighbor WCDMA macrocell base station when the neighbor cell is determined as the LTE femtocell.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a method of preparing a multicomponent bismuth molybdate catalyst by changing the pH of a coprecipitation solution upon coprecipitation and a method of preparing 1,3-butadiene using the catalyst. The multicomponent bismuth molybdate catalyst, coprecipitated using a solution having an adjusted pH, the preparation method thereof, and the method of preparing 1,3-butadiene through oxidative dehydrogenation using a C4 mixture including n-butene and n-butane as a reactant are provided. The C4 raffinate, containing many impurities, is directly used as a reactant without an additional process for separating n-butane or extracting n-butene, thus obtaining 1,3-butadiene at high yield. The activity of the multicomponent bismuth molybdate catalyst can be simply increased through precise pH adjustment upon coprecipitation, which is not disclosed in the conventional techniques. This method can be applied to the increase in the activity of multicomponent bismuth molybdate catalysts reported in the art.
