Abstract:
The touch screen lighting control device provides a multitude of graphical user interface (GUI) displays at a touch screen and is capable of detecting location specific selections based on the GUI to determine control actions for lighting devices, fans and other electrical fixtures. The device includes a mounting strap configured to couple the device to an in-wall junction box, a touch screen, and a thin film transistor communicably coupled to the touch screen for displaying the different displays and receiving selections at the touch screen. A glass panel can also be positioned between the touch screen and the thin film transistor. The GUI presents an interactive template to a user, and the touch screen and thin film transistor determines an interaction from the user based on the user interacting with the interactive template displayed on the GUI a the touch screen.

The electrical transmission system can further include a ground conductor coupled to a bottom end of the isolator of the arrester. The electrical transmission system can also include a tether coupled to the ground conductor, where the tether comprises a distal end, where the distal end of the tether is coupled to the arrester above the isolator.
Abstract:
A low profile surface mount electromagnetic component such as a power inductor includes first and second core pieces arranged side by side and having longitudinal side walls facing one another. A preformed coil winding includes vertical legs that are received in vertical slots of the facing longitudinal sidewalls of the component. Inset depressed sections are provided in the top surfaces of the first and second magnetic core pieces and receive a main winding section of the coil winding. Surface mount terminal tabs extend on the bottom surfaces of both the first and second magnetic core pieces.
Abstract:
A method, device, and system for controlling power delivered to a power-consuming device. The device can harvest power from a conductor carrying a high voltage using a power harvesting device. The device can include a power storage device to power a hardware processor and a communication component when there is no voltage flowing through the conductor. The device can determine when a control event is to occur. At such time, the device terminates control power delivered to the power-consuming device and continues to withhold the control power until the control event expires. When the control event has ended, the device allows control power to flow to the power-consuming device. The device uses a timer and the communication component to send and receives signals associated with a control event to a user. The device can also operate in a limited mode to conserve power when the device is not in use.
Abstract:
A connector can include a first shell having at least one first wall made of an electrically conductive material, where the at least one first wall forms a first cavity. The connector can also include an insert disposed within the first cavity. The connector can further include at least one connector pin disposed in and traversing the first shell. The connector can also include an electrically conductive face seal that abuts against a distal end of the insert within the first cavity, where the at least one connector pin traverses at least one first aperture in the electrically conductive face seal. The connector can further include at least one electrically insulating bushing disposed within the at least one first aperture in the electrically conductive face seal, where the at least one electrically insulating bushing is further disposed between the face seal and the at least one connector pin.
Abstract:
A light source, for example a light emitting diode, can emit light and have an associated optical axis. The source can be deployed in applications where it is desirable to have illumination biased laterally relative to the optical axis, such as in a street luminaire where directing light towards a street is beneficial. The source can be coupled to an optic that comprises a cavity. At least a portion of the cavity can have an outline that is egg-shaped in cross section. A backside of the cavity (or a backside portion of the optic) can have an irregular shape for receiving the light emitting diode, for example to form a receptacle shaped to fit a circuit board on which the light emitting diode is mounted.
Abstract:
A lateral sway brace for a service pipe is disclosed. The lateral sway brace can include a pipe cradle portion configured to interface with a service pipe, the pipe cradle portion being supportable by a brace member coupled to a building support. The lateral sway brace can also include a securing portion configured to secure the service pipe to the pipe cradle portion. The pipe cradle portion can position the service pipe such that a longitudinal axis of the brace member supporting the service pipe intersects or is tangent to the service pipe.
Abstract:
A lateral sway brace is disclosed for bracing a service pipe disposed at a predetermined distance from a building support. The lateral sway brace can include a pipe coupler securable to the service pipe and a brace coupler securable to a brace member. The brace coupler and the pipe coupler are operable with the brace member to laterally support the service pipe from the building support. The brace member has a length less than the predetermined distance between the service pipe and the building support. The lateral sway brace can also include a length adjustment mechanism operable with the brace coupler and facilitating a variable length to accommodate a difference between the predetermined distance between the service pipe and the building support and the length of the brace member.
Abstract:
An insulated switchgear module is disclosed. In one example, the module comprises a vacuum interrupter, current exchange assembly, and end conductors disposed within an insulated housing. The insulated housing further comprises a tank containing an actuator mechanism for actuating the current exchange assembly. An insulating tray within the housing separates the vacuum interrupter from the components in the tank. The insulated tray has a shape that corresponds with the shape of the vacuum interrupter and the shape of the housing.
