The method includes sending a trigger signal to a cross-connect device to cause the cross-connect device to switch between a first communication channel and a second communication channel. The first communication channel is between an originating switch associated with a subscriber's directory number and a distribution frame. The second communication channel is between a porting switch and the distribution frame. The method also includes validating that the cross-connect device switched between the first communication channel and the second communication channel.

    摘要: The present embodiments provide an efficient and effective method and system for routing calls to predetermined destinations to facilitate communication in a customer's preferred language. The present embodiments allow for an indication of a customer's language preference to be stored in some fashion and also allow for that indication to be accessed when the customer places a call that may require communications in a specific language. The indication of the customer's language preference can be accessed upon receipt of the call and appropriate information can be retrieved that enables the call to be routed to a destination to facilitate communication in a customer's preferred language.

    摘要: Systems and methods for providing controlled impairments to an optical transport system are disclosed. In one implementation, an optical stream is received. A clock signal and a data signal are identified based on the received optical signal. A selection indicating at least a particular bit position of the optical stream to be modified is received from a user and it is determined whether the particular bit position of the optical stream is located in an active video portion, a horizontally ancillary data portion, a vertically ancillary data portion, a start-video timing portion, or an end active video portion of the optical stream. The particular bit position in the determined portion of the optical stream is identified based on at least the clock signal and the data signal, and the particular bit position of the optical stream is modified.

    摘要: A profile management system is provided for accessing and maintaining profile data associated with a telecommunications service subscribed to by a user. The profile data is stored on a telecommunications network which executes the telecommunications service subscribed to by the user in accordance with the profile data. The profile management system includes a client and a server. The client hosts a user interface allowing the user to view and update the profile data. The server processes user requests from the client to view and update the profile data by obtaining the profile data from the telecommunications network and forwarding the profile data to the client. The server also processes user requests from the client to update the profile data by forwarding user updates of the profile data from the client to the telecommunications network. As a result of the profile management system, the user can access and maintain the profile data associated with the telecommunications service subscribed to by the user without involving service personnel.

    摘要: A system operable among compatible public networks, such as ATM networks, recognizes signals having external service addresses entering a controlled compatible public network. External service addresses are checked against a look-up of internal routing addresses that are generally only recognized and/or advertised within the controlled compatible public network, and that represent egress terminating interfaces. The external service address is replaced with the internal routing address, although the external service address is retained and transported. Routing to the egress terminating interface in the controlled compatible network is performed on the internal routing address only, without reference to the external service address. At the egress terminating interface, the internal routing address is discarded, and the external service address restored, as the signals are forwarded to the next entity, which is usually a connected compatible network or end system. The signals having external service addresses traverse the entire controlled compatible network without any internal system requiring external service address handling capability.

The service controller receives a request for the network service from an end system, provides the end system with a unique setup identifier and an enabling certificate, and instructs the end system to send a connection setup request to access the communications network, the connection setup request including the certificate and the unique setup identifier. The certificate includes information relating to a permitted setup and service policy or logic representing service capabilities or service permissions. The network connector receives the connection setup request from the end system, processes the connection setup request based on the certificate and the unique identifier, and establishes a network connection in accordance with at least the certificate.
