Abstract:
A performance analysis engine analyzes the performance of affiliate web sites that provide links to specific items in an electronic catalog, and identifies catalog items that can be listed by such affiliate web sites to improve performance. An association mining component analyzes transaction data attributable to specific categories or types of affiliate web sites to identify items that are frequently purchased in combination by users of such sites. The detected item associations are used to evaluate, for a given affiliate site, whether significant disparities exist between the expected and actual sales quantities of specific items. The results of the analysis are incorporated into affiliate-specific performance reports, which may include specific recommendations for improving performance. The disclosed methods may also be used to analyze the performance of, and provide recommendations to, online sellers within an online mall, online marketplace, or online auction system.

The present invention relates to formulations of concentrated azalide antibiotics and methods for making and using them. Specifically, the invention relates to a method of treating an infection comprising administering to a patient in need thereof, an effective amount of a concentrated aqueous azalide antibiotic formulation made according to the method comprising dissolving an azalide antibiotic in an aqueous solution comprising a strong acid. The invention also relates to methods for making concentrated aqueous azalide antibiotic formulations for use in pulmonary infection, a nasopharyngeal infection, an otic infection, an ocular infection, a dermal or a vaginal infection. The invention also relates to concentrated aqueous azalide antibiotic formulations made by dissolving an azalide antibiotic in an aqueous solution comprising a strong acid.
Abstract:
A method for de-tabbing a dielectric tab extending between and bonded to first and second stainless steel portions of a disk drive head suspension component. Exemplary first and second stainless steel portions are a flexure base region and a flexure tongue. The method includes applying laser energy to the dielectric tab. The laser energy is characterized by one or more parameters, e.g., a pulse width and/or an energy density, causing de-bonding of the dielectric tab from the first and second stainless steel portions.
Abstract:
A valve assembly comprised of a solenoid coil, having a coil bore, and being operative to produce a magnetic field when subject to an electric signal, a fixed magnetic pole piece within the coil bore, a generally cylindrically and axially translatable armature with a disc-shaped portion and an aperture therethrough, a valve base with a fixed portion over which the armature fits and forming a fluid cavity therebetween. The armature aperture allows a fluid to pass through the disc-shaped portion and into the fluid cavity to substantially equilibrate the fluid pressure on the armature in an axial direction. The valve assembly further includes a solenoid base which forms a chamber around the armature and a biasing mechanism between the magnetic pole piece and the armature which axially translates when the magnetic pole piece is subject to the electric signal, allowing the fluid to pass through the valve assembly in proportion to the electric current.
Abstract:
In some embodiments an apparatus and method may comprise a plurality of lanes between two clock domains, each lane comprising circuitry to generate a first signal when the lane may lose cycle coherency with other of the plurality of lanes, generate a second signal to signify a lane has been delayed, and a control circuit coupled with the plurality of lanes to add latency only to lanes that did not generate a second signal if the control circuit detects a first signal from any of the plurality of lanes.
Abstract:
A proportional solenoid-driven valve control assembly comprised of a moveable, magnetic armature adjacent to a fixed magnetic pole piece, providing fluid leakage containment, and having no non-magnetic element for alignment, support, or magnetic flux path control. A valve unit coupled with the armature contains a fluid cavity in fluid communication with a fluid inlet port and a fluid exit port. The valve is closed by a poppet coupled to the armature. To compensate for fluid pressures exerted against the poppet, a flow restriction is provided between an armature cavity and the fluid cavity. In addition, a bore is formed through the armature to provide fluid communication between the fluid exit port and the armature cavity. This serves to balance fluid pressures at the fluid inlet and exit ports applied to the opposite sides of the fluid flow restriction.
Abstract:
Some embodiments of the invention provide a training sequence that may be used in a deskewing process or a protocol to be implemented in a training sequence deskew. Embodiments may also comprise a training pattern that allows for header or frame alignment.
Abstract:
A semiconductor radiation detection crystal converts incident radiation or an incident particle into an electrical signal. A first substrate for conveying the electrical signal to processing electronics is bonded to the crystal via an anisotropic conductive material sandwiched therebetween. The crystal can include can array of pixels which are positioned in opposition with an array of conductive pads formed on the first substrate. The anisotropic conductive material forms between each pixel and its corresponding conductive pad an electrical path, with each electrical path isolated from other electrical paths.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for analyzing a sequence of data arrays. A selection of at least one type of region of interest and at least one region of interest from said data arrays is made. The sequence of data arrays are then transformed into a simplified data array. Events of interest in the selected regions of interest are then detected and stored in a second simplified data array. The data is then analyzed to determine relationships between the detected events of interest
Abstract:
A proportional solenoid-driven valve control assembly contains a moveable, magnetic armature positioned adjacent to one end of a fixed magnetic pole piece. The magnetic pole piece has a longitudinal axial pole piece portion, and a relatively thin, annular axial pole piece portion, that rapidly saturates, and is effectively mechanically solid with the longitudinal pole piece portion for fluid leakage containment. A radial portion is solid with the annular axial portion and provides support and alignment for the armature relative to the magnetic pole piece, without the need for non-magnetic material for alignment, support or magnetic flux flow path control.
