摘要: A case for holding writing utensils includes a body having an outer surface and a retaining surface. The outer surface of the body is configured for placement on a substantially horizontal surface. The retaining surface has at least one first recess configured to frictionally retain a portion of a writing utensil at a first angle with respect to the horizontal surface such that an end portion of the writing utensil obliquely extends from the retaining surface. The case may include at least one first channel and at least one second channel are defined within the inner surface along first and second gradients, respectively. The first gradient slopes upward from a front end of the first channel to a rear end of the first channel. The second gradient slopes downward from a front end of the second channel to a rear end of the second channel. The first and second channels are each configured to retain a portion of a writing utensil. Each first channel is positioned adjacent to at least one second channel such that the first and second channels form a non-interconnected crisscross pattern. The case may also include means for retaining a plurality of writing utensils coupled to the inner surface of the body. The means for retaining a plurality of writing utensils is configured such that the writing utensils alternatively extend from the inner surface in at least two separate directions.

摘要: A method and apparatus for reducing the amount of control plane processing and flow detection required in a Multiprotocol Over ATM (MPOA) system are provided. According to one aspect of the present invention, flow detection processing may be altered based upon a packet's content. A first MPOA client (MPC) may include a plurality of flow detection mechanisms including standard MPOA processing and modified flow detection processing. For example, a flow may be determined to exist when the number of packets to a particular destination within a predetermined time interval exceeds a threshold value. Alternatively, a flow may be determined to exist immediately for certain types of traffic and detection of a flow may be suppressed for other types of traffic. Upon receipt at a first MPC, traffic may be classified based upon any information contained within a packet, including the header, the payload, or portions and/or combinations thereof. Based upon the packet's content, the MPC then selects among the plurality of flow detection mechanisms for purposes of determining whether or not a flow exists. According to another aspect of the present invention, control plane processing may be managed based upon a packet's content. A first MPC determines whether or not a stream of data with which a packet is associated justifies establishing a shortcut between the first MPC and the MPC with which the target is associated. After determining that the shortcut is justified, the first MPC allows or disallows the transmission of a resolution request based upon the packet's content.

摘要: A novel intravascular device for removing vascular occlusion material comprises an elongate tube intravascularly insertable into a patient including a vascular occlusion removal element and a vascular lumen interior surface scouring element. The removal element comprises inner and outer respectively rotatable cutters which may be helical tubular cutters or cutting windows. The cutting windows may include cutting edges defining a substantially rectangular, arcuate or V-shaped configuration. The scouring element may be a flexible wire or a dilating member engageable with an interior surface of a vascular lumen. The scouring element may include a web member for collecting and funneling scoured material. A novel method for removing vascular occlusion material from a vascular lumen having an interior surface is also provided. The method comprises the steps of: providing an intravascular device having vascular occlusion removal means and vascular lumen scouring means; inserting the device intravascularly into a patient; positioning the device adjacent vascular occlusion material within the vascular lumen; energizing the removal means for removing vascular occlusion material from the vascular lumen; and energizing the scouring means for scouring the interior surface of the vascular lumen.

摘要: A method and apparatus of providing a teleforum. The method includes generating simultaneous outbound invitation calls to multiple invitees and transmitting a message to each invitee, inviting him or her to become a teleforum participant. Teleforum participants who accept the invitation are connected to the teleforum in a listen-only mode. During the teleforum, a teleforum participant may request active participation in the teleforum. The method also includes allowing the participant to actively participate in the teleforum. Active participation may include but is not limited to such activities as: speaking to the teleforum, asking a question, responding to a poll, making a donation, providing information, leaving a message, being transferred to a subconference, receiving feedback from participants, leaving a voicemail, volunteering for future activities or receiving media transmitted outside of the teleforum.

摘要: A wireless headset capable of receiving audio signals transmitted wirelessly and compatible for use in an MRI scanner is disclosed. The headset includes a first wireless module connected to the first earphone and a second wireless module connected to the second earphone. Each wireless module is electrically connected to a speaker in the respective earphone. The first wireless module receives the audio signal from a remote source and coordinates transmission of the audio signal to each of the speakers. The compact nature of each earphone minimizes the length of wire runs. In addition, the headset is made of materials having low magnetic susceptibility such that they will not be affected by the magnetic field from the MRI scanner.

摘要: A patient support assembly for use in a magnetic resonance image (MRI) scanner includes a first and a second patient support structure and a first and a second imaging coil. The patient support assembly provides support for multiple anatomical regions being imaged, improving patient comfort during the procedure. Access to the patient is improved by: providing a flexible coil that wraps around at least one of the anatomical regions being imaged, providing a support structure open to the anterior region of the anatomical region being imaged, and providing a support structure that may be opened and closed about the anatomical region being imaged. The patient support assembly also aligns the two imaging coils to minimize interference between coils during imaging.
