Abstract: Methods and apparatus for facilitating the use of a plurality of antenna beams for communications purposes are described. In at least some embodiments beam priority information is periodically exchanged. Multiple timers are used to ensure beam information is exchanged at intervals intended to facilitate reliable beam synchronization and to control switching to one or more alternative beams in a predictable manner in the event beam change information or beam synchronization information is lost. In some but not all embodiments a wideband beam is used to communicate beam synchronization information when synchronization using narrower beams used for normal data communication is lost.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for parsing data traffic into queues for efficient routing and prioritization. In one embodiment, methods and apparatus for backhauling small cell data traffic using existing cable network infrastructure using DOCSIS Low Latency queue capabilities are provided. A data traffic classifier may use a two-stages sorting algorithm, including a first stage classification using IP address information and a second stage classification using differentiated services code point (DSCP) value information. In one implementation, the DSCP values of the data traffic are set using QoS Flow Identification (QFI) values.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods for guaranteeing a quality of experience (QoE) associated with data provision services in an enhanced data delivery network. In one embodiment, a network architecture having service delivery over at least portions of extant infrastructure (e.g., a hybrid fiber coax infrastructure) is disclosed, which includes standards-compliant ultra-low latency and high data rate services (e.g., 5G NR services) via a common service provider. In one exemplary implementation, “over-the-top” voice data services may enable exchange of voice traffic with client devices in the aforementioned network. A distribution node may use a detection rule to identify received packets as voice traffic, and cause a dedicated bearer to attach to the default bearer, thereby enabling delivery of high-quality voice traffic by at least prioritizing the identified packets thereafter and sustaining the delivery even in a congested network environment, and improving the quality of service (QoS) and QoE for the user(s).

Abstract: Node apparatus and methods for providing high-bandwidth, low-latency data service over a content delivery network including existing wireline infrastructure. In one embodiment, a network architecture having service delivery over at least portions of extant hybrid fiber coax (HFC) infrastructure is disclosed, which includes a node that enables standards-compliant ultra-low latency and high data rate services (e.g., 3GPP and IEEE Std. 802.11 services). In one variant, an expanded frequency band (e.g., 1.6 GHz in total bandwidth) is used over the coaxial portions of the HFC infrastructure, which is allocated to two or more sub-bands via 802.11ax protocols. The node is used in various network architectures configured to support different use cases such as for providing a small cell service, a distributed antenna system (DAS) at an enterprise premises or a venue, and a redundancy capability of data communication.

In another variant, local area (e.g., “pole mounted”) radio devices are used to provide supplemental RF coverage, including during mobility scenarios.

Abstract: A first wireless communications device including a transmitter, such as a base station or UE, identifies a first traffic flow, e.g., a TCP packet flow, for which end to end packet retransmission is supported. The first wireless communications device transmits an explicit indication to a second wireless communications device to skip Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) feedback for data, corresponding to the first traffic flow, said data being transmitted to the second wireless communications device. The explicit indication to skip HARQ feedback for data is, e.g., one of: a HARQ Off Indicator in a Downlink Control Information (DCI) Scheduling message, a Semi-Persistent Scheduling HARQ Off Indicator, or a AUL HARQ Off Indicator. HARQ suppression is applied for the first traffic flow at a radio link layer and/or MAC layer.

Abstract: An antenna overlay system includes antenna hardware, a communication link, and electronic circuitry disposed on a substrate. The communication link couples the electronic circuitry to the antenna hardware. During operation, the electronic circuitry in communication with the antenna hardware is operable to control transmission and reception of wireless signals in a wireless region. An adhesive layer disposed on a surface of the substrate couples the substrate to an object such as a window. In one arrangement, the window is a low-E glass windowpane that substantially attenuates wireless signals from being received by communication equipment in a building in which the windowpane is installed. The antenna overlay system provides enhanced RF signal reception and transmission.
