    摘要: The invention addresses an composition of matter comprising a cation [Ct]+ and an anion [A]−, the anion comprises a core Group-13 element bound to partially or completely fluorinated fluoroaryl ligands, at least one of the fluoroaryl ligands is substituted with a Group-15 element that has been rendered essentially inert for subsequent chemical reaction through its unbonded electron pair by substituting an electron-withdrawing group on it. [Ct]+ may be selected from anilinium and ammonium cations, trityl carbenium cations, Group-11 metal cations, silylium cations, the cations of the hydrated salts of Group-1 or -2 metals, and derivatives of the foregoing anilinium, ammonium, trityl carbenium, and silylium cations containing C1-C20 hydrocarbyl, hydrocarbylsilyl, or hydrocarbylamine substituents for one or more hydrogen atoms of said cations. The compositions can be used to activate olefin polymerization catalysts, and can be prepared to dissolve in aliphatic solvents. Syntheses and polymerization are illustrated.

    摘要: Methods and systems for pelletizing low molecular weight semi-crystalline polymers are provided herein. Polymer compositions comprising the semi-crystalline polymer and a solvent are provided to a devolatilizing device, where the solvent is at least partially evaporated under vacuum conditions, resulting in removal of heat from the polymer by evaporative cooling and crystallization of the polymer. Once the polymer has reached the desired temperature, the polymer exits the devolatilizer and is pelletized. Semi-crystalline polymers that may be used in the present invention include propylene-based copolymers, such as propylene-ethylene and propylene-hexene copolymers having a heat of fusion, Hf, from about 5 to about 75 J/g and a weight average molecular weight, Mw, from about 10,000 to about 200,000 g/mol.

The adhesive comprises polyolefin base polymer, from 1 to 10 wt % of at least one functionalized polyolefin, and from 1 to 15 wt % of a wax, based on the total weight of the polyolefin base polymer, functionalized polyolefin and wax, wherein the wax has a weight average molecular weight at least 8% of the weight average molecular weight of the polyolefin base polymer, viscosity at 190° C. of 60 mPa·s or more, and a crystallization temperature greater than the polyolefin base polymer and greater than 100° C., and wherein the adhesive has at least 5% fiber tear at 2° C., at least 50% fiber tear at 25° C., and a characteristic set time of less than 3 seconds.
