Abstract: A compact fusible disconnect switch device includes a magnetic arc deflection assembly including at least a pair of magnets disposed about a switch contact assembly. The magnetic arc deflection assembly facilitates reliable connection and disconnection of DC voltage circuitry well above 125 VDC with reduced arcing intensity and duration. Multiple pairs of magnets may apply magnetic fields in directions opposing one another to deflect electrical arcs in different directions at more than one location in the switch contact assembly to facilitate high voltage DC operation.

Abstract: A power fuse with zinc-aluminum terminals is provided. The power fuse includes a housing having a first end and a second end. Coupled to the housing at the first end is a first terminal assembly fabricated from a zinc-aluminum alloy, and coupled to the housing at the second end is a second terminal assembly also fabricated from the zinc-aluminum alloy. The first and second terminal assemblies include a copper plating entirely covering an exterior of the zinc-aluminum alloy. A fuse element assembly is positioned inside the housing and is electrically connected between the first terminal assembly and the second terminal assembly.

The system further has a controller that includes a current detection circuit structured to determine a current flow through the motive electrical power path, and a fuse management circuit structured to provide a contactor activation command in response to the current flow. The contactor may be responsive to the contactor activation command.

Abstract: A thermal limiter system for an electric motor includes a thermal limiter fuse having a hollow contact element anchored by solder to at least one of first and second terminals of the fuse. A coaxial spring element causes the hollow contact element to slidably release and separate from one of the first and second terminals due to overheating of the solder that is not caused by a flow of electrical current. The system also includes stator mounting blocks and a stator cooling jacket for a motor to be thermally protected.
