摘要: Apparatus and associated methods relate to a post temperature calibration translation circuit (PTCTC) configured to generate a signal corresponding to a predetermined temperature voltage translation relationship (TVTR). In an illustrative example, the PTCTC may be coupled to a motor controller including a control logic to regulate a power input to a motor based on the TVTR. The PTCTC further includes an input port configured to receive a temperature sensor output based on a predetermined transfer function. At least one analog corrective translation circuit (ACTC), for example, may generate temperature input signals to the motor power controller based on the temperature sensor output. The temperature input signals are generated based on a calibrated transfer function such that the temperature input signals substantially match an output according to the TVTR. Various embodiments may advantageously avoid modification of the control logic when the predetermined transfer function is altered.

摘要: A method for calculating a temperature of an electric drive unit includes calculating a temperature model output variable (ym) using an input variable (u) and a temperature model, assigning the temperature model output variable (ym) to a system observer, and measuring an actual temperature (y) using a temperature detection element. A model state variable (xm) is regulated and outputted based on an output variable difference (Δy) between the actual temperature (y) and the output variable (ym) using the system observer. A fault mode or a normal mode of the temperature detection element is indicated using a detection state signal (s1). Depending on the signal (s1), the system observer is switched between a control mode, in which the model state variable (xm) is controlled depending on the output variable difference (Δy), and a throughput mode, in which the model state variable (xm) is calculated independently of the actual temperature (y).

摘要: An electric drive system includes a power electronics module with a DC-DC converter and an inverter. The power electronics modules include a plurality of Silicon Carbide switches. Dynamic models are used to estimate the temperatures of the switch junctions and of the Direct Bond Copper substrate. The dynamic models rely on a coolant flowrate value from a coolant system. If the estimate of the substrate temperature differs substantially from a measured substrate temperature, a controller concludes that the coolant system is not delivering the stated flow rate of coolant and takes remedial action such as reducing motor torque to zero.
