Abstract:
Organic pressure-sensitive adhesive and silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive composites have improved shear strength upon the addition of a silicone cross-linking agent.
Abstract:
A personal care composition is provided, comprising (A) an effective amount of a polyalkylsiloxane copolymer having a melting point of from about -40.degree. C. to about +40.degree. C., and being selected from various specific polyalkylsiloxane copolymer fluids or polyalkylsiloxane copolymer resins; and (B) a cosmetically acceptable carrier medium, wherein the polyalkylsiloxane copolymer contains mixtures of linear lower alkyl side chains and linear higher alkyl side chains or mixtures of linear alkyl side chains and branched alkyl side chains. The polyalkylsiloxane copolymers used in the composition are fluids or soft waxes at body temperature and have improved application and payout and better substantivity and hair conditioning properties.
Abstract:
A novel method is provided for preparing carboxy functional silicones, comprising the steps of:(1) addition reacting a mixture of ingredients containing(A) an olefin-terminated organoacyloxysilane;(B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane, and(C) a precious metal or a precious metal-containing catalyst, and(2) hydrolyzing the addition reaction product prepared in step (1).
Abstract:
There are provided novel diorganoaminoorganosiloxy-terminated polysiloxanes and compositions thereof which provide improved properties to hair and textile fabric treated with them. Methods for treating hair and fabric with the polysiloxanes and compositions containing them are also provided.
Abstract:
A composition suitable for forming a pressure sensitive adhesive is provided comprising a homogeneous mixture of two intermediate pressure sensitive adhesive compositions. The pressure sensitive adhesives formed by curing this composition have improved peel strength and adhesion properties.

Abstract:
There are provided novel silicone-ester waxes having the general unit formula ##EQU1## where R is hydrogen or an organic radical, R.sup.1 is an ester-containing radical having at least 12 carbon atoms, a and b are independently selected integers from 0 to 3 inclusive, and the sum of a+b has an average value from about 1.0 to about 3.0, with the proviso that there is present at least one R.sup.1 radical.
Abstract:
Paper release catalyst blends which are self-emulsifiable and form uniquely stable catalyst emulsions are disclosed. The blends, comprising compatible emulsifiers and organo tin catalysts, disperse in aqueous baths without colloidal milling and retain activity in storage longer than conventional catalyst emulsions.
Abstract:
The present invention provides curable silicone compositions, comprising:(a) a substantially linear olefinic group-containing polydiorganosiloxane;(b) a resinous olefinic group-containing polysiloxane;(c) a reactive organic monomer;(d) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane, and(e) a hydrosilation catalyst. There are also provided articles of manufacture prepared by coating substrates such as optical fibers with said composition as well as methods for making said curable compositions and articles of manufacture.
