Abstract: Devices, systems, and method are provided for operating a store. One method includes sampling a shopping environment using one or more sensors to produce features relating to a state of activity of the store. The method further includes processing output of at least one sensor through a feature extractor to extract one or more additional features relating to the state of activity of the retail store. Then, processing at least part of the produced features and at least part of the extracted additional features using a processing entity associated with the store and a machine learning model to generate one or more labels relating to the state of activity of the retail store. In further embodiments, items in the store are physically taken into possession and automatically added to a user's electronic shopping cart to enable processing of a cashier-less transaction.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and method are provided for identifying actions in a retail store. One method includes sampling a shopping environment using one or more sensors. The method includes receiving output of the sampling as feature inputs to a machine learning classifier model to derive one or more labels characterizing a state of an item. At least one processing entity associated with the retail store detects the state of the item to change from one as item taken to one as item returned, and sensor data from said one or more sensors characterizing the item as having been returned to a wrong location in the retail store. In further embodiments, items taken are added to a user's electronic shopping cart to enable processing of a cashier-less transaction.

Abstract: Methods and devices are provided. One device includes an antenna, a microcontroller, and a power source. The power source configured to generate power in response to ambient energy received at a first frequency during a cycle of energy harvesting using the antenna. The power is transferred to a power storage cell such that when the power storage cell has an amount of power the microcontroller of the device processes at least a part of a processing task to be sent to an end node, and a result of processing of said at least said part of the processing task is stored. During one or more additional cycles of energy harvesting, using generated power to process one or more additional parts of the processing task to assemble a payload or process a wireless transmission of the payload. The wireless transmission of the payload is sent over a second frequency to the end node.

When the commercial break is over, the system may optionally rejoin with the primary media stream.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and method are provided for tracking items in a store for processing a cashier-less purchase transaction. In one example, a method for tracking items in a physical store for processing cashier-less purchase transactions is provided. The method includes detecting a portable wireless coded communication (WCC) device in the physical store. The WCC device is associated with an on-line account of a shopper. Then, receiving, by a server, sensor data regarding the WCC device, its location in the physical store and proximity to items in the physical store. The method includes receiving, by the server, interaction data of an item on a shelf of the physical store by the shopper using one or more sensors of the physical store and the WCC device to determine that the item is one targeted for purchase. The interaction data is configured to identify a type of said item and add it to an electronic shopping cart of the shopper having the on-line account for processing said cashier-less purchase transactions. The method further includes processing, by the server, an electronic charge to a payment service of the shopper for the item. The WCC device may be a portable device of the user, and an application for said cashier-less purchase transactions can be run by the WCC device or portable device of the user.

The identifying uses at least a device having wireless communication. The device has an application that is executed in associated with a user account of the user. Also, tracking the user movements while in the store. The tracked movements include detecting proximity of the user to a shelf having an item. And, detecting interaction data for the item on the shelf of the store by the user. The interaction data is configured to identify a type of said item and enable add said item to an electronic shopping cart of the user having said user account for enabling processing of said cashier-less purchase transaction. The method includes receiving data indicative of said user leaving an area of the store while the item is in the electronic shopping cart. Leaving is indicative that the user intends to purchase the item. An exit of the area includes one or more sensors for confirming that the user has left the area. The method includes processing an electronic charge to a payment service associated with the user account of the user for the item based on said confirming.

Abstract: Computer implemented methods, apparatus and systems for enabling interactive interfacing with a computer game program are provided. One method provides an input device to accept and transmit user input to the computer game program. The input device enables activation of one or more gearing parameters associated with interactive components of the computer game program. In another operation, the method identifies an interactive component of the computer game program. The interactive component used to receive the transmitted user input to enable the interactive interfacing. In yet another operation the method detects user input to apply one of the gearing parameters to the interactive component if so dictated by the transmitted user input. The applied gearing parameter used to define a scaling ratio between the user input and a rate at which the interactive component reacts during execution of the computer game program.

Abstract: Real-time participation within a media presentation is disclosed. A participant overlay may be generated by preprocessing a media presentation captured in real time with a camera to extract a time-variant metadata stream associated with one or more interactive regions depicted in the media presentation. The participant overlay includes simulated physics, which may include boundaries of the interactive regions defined in accordance with content in said media presentation. A participant's interaction with said media presentation through the interactive regions may be captured and combined with the media presentation for display on a display. The interaction may comprise a user action upon one or more elements in the media presentation, a user action expressed in the media presentation through an avatar, or a user action in said media presentation in connection with a game element.
