摘要: A display optical system for guiding light from an original picture to an eye of an observer or a surface to have an image projected thereon is provided with a first optical system and a second optical system. The first optical system is provided with a first surface that is formed on a transparent body and has at least a reflecting action, a second surface for reflecting light reflected on the first surface toward the first surface again, and a third surface that is formed on the transparent body in the same manner as the first surface and transmits the light from the original picture. The light transmitted through the third surface travels toward the first surface and reflected for the first time on the first surface. In addition, a principal ray at central angle of view to be reflected for the last time on the first surface is reflected and travels to a side opposite to a side of the first reflection on the first surface with respect to a normal line of a surface on a hit point thereof. With such a structure, a small display optical system that is capable of widening an angle of view is realized.

摘要: Parallax images corresponding to a plurality of different view points are each divided into predetermined stripe images, a synthetic parallax image is synthesized from the stripe images, and display light, from stripe images corresponding to one view point of the synthetic parallax image on the image display element displaying the synthetic parallax image, is guided to a mask member having a mask pattern with predetermined openings and shields by a second optical system placed in front of the image display element. The display light passing through the openings of the mask member is condensed to a position corresponding to the view point on an observation surface a predetermined distance apart, by a first optical system, whereby an observer is permitted to stereoscopically observe image information displayed on the image display element.

摘要: This invention has as its object to provide a viewpoint detection apparatus and method, which can assure high-speed processing, high precision, and high tracking performance with a simple arrangement while suppressing adverse influences on the human body, and a stereoscopic image display apparatus using the same. The viewpoint position detection apparatus of this invention has an image sensing unit (1) and a viewpoint detection unit (2). The image sensing unit has a visible image sensing section (11) and infrared image sensing section (12). A pupil position detection processing section (24) detects the pupil position from an infrared image, and a template generation section (23) generates templates for a visible image using the pupil position obtained from the infrared image. A pattern matching discrimination section (22) executes pattern matching of a visible image. The infrared ray irradiation time upon capturing an infrared image can be minimized, and the load on processes can be reduced since pupil position information detected from the infrared image is used upon generating templates. An image display unit (3) as a stereoscopic image display apparatus is connected to the viewpoint position detection apparatus, and viewpoint position information is supplied to the image display unit, thus constructing a stereoscopic image display system having a broad stereovision range for the observer.

摘要: A basic cylinder-charged air quantity is determined by a first-order delay processing of an intake air quantity per rotation. Next, an estimated value of a change portion of the cylinder-charged air quantity caused by a change in intake valve timing is computed on the basis of engine speed, throttle opening angle, displacement angle of the intake valve timing. Then, the estimated value of the change portion of the cylinder-charged air quantity is processed second-time by the first-order delay. A difference between the estimated value of a change portion of the cylinder-charged air quantity and a value obtained by processing the estimated value second-time by the first-order delay is added as a delay correction to the basic cylinder-charged air quantity, thereby obtaining an actual cylinder-charged air quantity with a change in the intake valve timing.
