    摘要: An industrial roll includes: a substantially cylindrical shell having an outer surface; a polymeric cover circumferentially overlying the shell outer surface; and a sensing system. The sensing system includes: a plurality of sensors embedded in the cover, each sensor configured to sense a data parameter; and a plurality of wireless transceivers, each transceiver connected to a respective sensor and embedded in the cover adjacent thereto. Each wireless transceiver is configured to transmit data signals from the respective sensor. Related methods and systems are also discussed.

Each frame element is integrally formed from a fiber-reinforced plastic composite material and the recesses are configured as integral cut-outs of each frame element.

    摘要: The invention relates to epoxy adhesives. An epoxy adhesive is provided that simultaneously has low E-modulus and high glass temperature. Such adhesives are useful in the manufacture of large machinery (e.g., automobiles), and are useful for bonding different materials, such as metal and carbon fiber composite. The cured epoxy adhesive can be formulated to have an E-modulus of less than 1000 MPa, and a glass transition temperature of at least 80 C. The epoxy adhesive comprises a capped polyurethane pre polymer, a core shell rubber, and polyetheramine-epoxy adduct.

    摘要: The invention is an epoxy resin based adhesive composition comprising an epoxy resin and a compound comprising an elastomeric prepolymer residue selected from the group of a polyurethane, a polyurea and a polyurea polyurethane having isocyanate end groups, the isocyanate end groups of said prepolymer residue being capped by a capping compound selected from the group consisting of a primary aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, heteroaromatic and araliphatic amine, a secondary aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic, heteroaromatic and araliphatic amine, a thiol and an alkyl amide, said capping compound being bound to the end of the polymer chain of the elastomeric prepolymer in a manner such that the end to which it is bonded no longer has a reactive group.In addition to the capping compound defined above above, a capping compound selected from the group consisting of a phenol and a polyphenol can be used for capping the isocyanate end groups of the prepolymer residue.

    摘要: Epoxy adhesive compositions containing a rubber-modified epoxy resin contain a bisphenol. The bisphenol can be pre-reacted with the rubber-modified epoxy resin to advance the resin. The adhesives are resistant to thermal degradation as can occur in so-called “overbake” conditions, in which the adhesive is heated to high temperatures for prolonged periods of time. In addition, expanded microballoons are included in epoxy structural adhesives to promote a desired fracture mode.
