    摘要: A light source unit capable of considerably reducing the size of a vehicular lamp. An LED is mounted on an optical axis extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle with its light output directed upward, and a reflector is provided above the LED having a first reflecting surface for collecting the light emitted by the LED and reflecting the light generally in the direction of the optical axis Ax. The reflector is formed by a reflective coating formed on the surface of a translucent block covering the LED. Consequently, the size of the reflector can be considerably reduced as compared with reflectors employed in conventional vehicular lamps. Moreover, since the LED used as a light source emits little heat, the reflector can be designed without having to take into account the influence of heat generated by the light source. Furthermore, the LED can be treated substantially as a point light source so that proper reflection control can be carried out even if the size of the reflector is reduced. By mounting the LED so that its light output is directed substantially orthogonal to the optical axis Ax, moreover, it is possible to effectively utilize most of the light emitted by the LED and reflected by the first reflecting surface.

The projection lens is arranged on an optical axis extending in a longitudinal direction of a vehicle. The light source is arranged on a rear side of a rear side focal point of the projection lens. The reflector reflects forward light from the light source toward the optical axis. An upper end edge of the shade passes through a vicinity of the rear side focal point. The shade shields part of a reflected light from the reflector. The convex lens is arranged between the light source and the shade, and converges light from the light source into the vicinity of the upper end edge of the shade.

    摘要: A lighting control apparatus of a vehicle-purpose lighting device can contribute power saving effect, and prevention of a deterioration of a semiconductor light source, and also, can maintain driving safety characteristics. When an input terminal becomes a low level while a vehicle is stopped, a PNP transistor is turned ON, so that a source current I1 flows through a current detecting terminal; a switching regulator lights an LED under beam attenuating operation of 70% in accordance with a light emitting degree capable of satisfying a luminous intensity distribution defined in a law; when an upper beam is lighted, the input terminal becomes a low level; a PNP transistor is turned ON; a source current I2 flows through the current detecting terminal, so that the light emitting degree of the LED is further decreased, and thus, the switching regulator lights the LED under beam attenuating operation of 50%.

    摘要: A vehicle lamp includes a plurality of semiconductor light emitting devices, and a reflector for reflecting light emitted from the semiconductor light emitting devices toward a front side of the vehicle lamp. The reflector is partitioned into a plurality of light emitting areas that are radially formed around an optical axis extending in a front-rear direction of a vehicle. Each of the semiconductor light emitting devices is disposed on an outer peripheral portion of one of the light emitting areas respectively. Each of the reflecting surfaces of the reflector is provided in one of the light emitting areas respectively.

The projection lens projects light from a point on the optical axis of the lower end edge within a vertical cross section as parallel light, and projects light from a point on the optical axis of the lower end edge within a horizontal cross section as diffused light.
