摘要: A distance measurement apparatus includes a transmitting device for transmitting a forward electromagnetic wave. A receiving device operates for receiving an echo wave caused by reflection of the forward electromagnetic wave at an object, and converting the received echo wave into a first received signal. A scattered-wave detecting device operates for detecting a scattered wave reaching the receiving device and caused by reflection of the forward electromagnetic wave at an obstacle which occurs prior to the reflection of the forward electromagnetic wave at the object. A cancel-signal generating device operates for generating a cancel signal to cancel a scattered-wave-corresponding component of the first received signal generated by the receiving device in response to the scattered wave detected by the scattered-wave detecting device. A scattered-wave canceling device operates for removing the scattered-wave-corresponding component from the first received signal in response to the cancel signal generated by the cancel-signal generating device to change the first received signal to a second received signal. A distance calculating device responsive to the second received signal operates for measuring a time interval between a moment of the transmission of the forward electromagnetic wave by the transmitting device and a moment of the reception of the echo wave by the receiving device, and calculating a distance to the object on the basis of the measured time interval.

摘要: A picture display method and apparatus in which a light source is lengthened in service life and optimum color reproduction is realized, while the light utilization efficiency is improved to reduce the power consumption and the size of the apparatus. The red, green and blue illuminating light beams radiated from the light-emitting diodes 12R, 12G and 12R, are illuminated via relay lenses and field lenses on picture display light valves 11R, 11G and 11B and spatially modulated in intensity so as to be synthesized by a synthesis prism 10 and so as to be projected to an enlarged scale on a screen 17. The profile of the light radiating portions of the light-emitting diodes 12R, 12G and 12B are set so as to be the same or similar to the profile of a picture display area of each of the picture display light valves 11R, 11G and 11B in order that the profile of the light beam illuminated on the picture display area will be in keeping with the profile of the picture display area.

摘要: A current flowing time period control system for an ignition coil of an internal combustion engine is disclosed in which a current flowing time period setting circuit sets the time period for supplying the primary current of the ignition coil and an output signal of the current flowing time period setting circuit is amplified by a drive circuit and supplied to a power transistor, whereby the primary current of the ignition coil is intermittented to control the ignition operation. The current flowing time period control system has a primary current rise detection circuit for detecting the rise period of the primary current of the ignition coil to 1/n of the desired interruption current value (n>1), and includes an accumulation device in which the accumulated amount changes gradually in one direction at a first rate until detection of the rise of the ignition coil primary current to 1/n of the desired interruption current value by the rise detection circuit, in the other direction at a second rate gradually at an ignition timing, and again in the original direction at a third rate 1/n of the first rate. In accordance with the accumulated amount of the accumulation device, a time length n times longer than the time period required for the rise of the ignition coil primary current to 1/n of the desired interruption current value is set as a primary current flowing time period for the next ignition cycle.

摘要: In a speed control system for vehicles, a speed difference calculation circuit calculates an absolute value of a time difference between a predetermined period of time corresponding with a desired speed and an instant period of time corresponding with the actual speed, an acceleration calculation circuit calculates an absolute value of a time difference between the respective instant periods of time, and a correction signal generator calculates a sum of the absolute values in consideration with the actual speed when each sign of the calculated time differences is positive or negative and calculates a difference between the absolute values in consideration with the actual speed when respective signs of the calculated time differences are opposite to each other. The signal generator selectively produces correction signals related to the calculated sum and the calculated difference. A distribution circuit produces a control signal in response to the respective correction signals, and an actuator controls the opening angle of the engine throttle in response to the control signal.
