摘要: A rotating media carrier system includes a rotating media carrier having an axis of rotation, a mass connected to the media carrier, and a device for adjusting a radial position of the mass with respect to the axis of rotation. The system further includes a device for rotating the media carrier and the mass, wherein the rotating media carrier and the mass are connected to the device for rotating such that the rotating media carrier rotates at an angular velocity that is different than the mass at any given time.

摘要: A device for carrying an endless conveyor belt (1) along a helical part of its path comprises a frame (9, 10) supporting an outer ball track and an inner ball track, each arranged under a lateral portion (22, 23) of the conveyor belt along at least a section of the helical part of the conveyor belt path. Each ball track is formed of a plurality of ball-bearing elements (11) disposed helically after one another and each having a plurality of balls (21) in an endless ball track with an upper circular-arc-shaped track section (19) and a lower track section (20) which connects with the upper track section to form the endless ball track. The lateral portions (22, 23) of the conveyor belt (1) rest on the balls (21) in the upper track sections (19) of the ball-bearing elements (11).

摘要: Methods and compositions are provided for determining the prognosis of human breast carcinoma through in vitro or in vivo detection of an antigen expressed and shed by cancer cells. The presence of this antigen is positively correlated with the presence of cancer and the number of cells expressing this antigen is correlated with a high incidence of tumor relapse, distant relapse and shortened relapse-free survival time.

摘要: A storing installation comprises two endless chains supporting a load for the conveyance thereof along a conveyance path and travelling in opposition to said conveyance path in a return path having more tightly curved portions than said conveyance path, to formed closed chain paths, and a frame for supporting said chains via at least one series of rolling elements arranged between said frame and the respective chain. Each chain comprises links overlapping one another in such a manner that the chain and the frame form an essentially closed channel for the rolling elements throughout the tighter return path.

摘要: Embodiments of the invention enable sensing the presence and concentration of molecules such as electrolytes, biomarkers, chemically defined drugs and proteins in transdermal and cell interstitial body fluids. Today, these tests are generally performed by blood extraction in a clinic environment and a later analysis resulting in inconvenience to the patient, high cost, the need for specialized personnel and a delay in the results. The present invention enables performing those tests at a low cost, by non-specialized personnel or the patient him(her)self, in a home or clinic environment and provides near real time results that get communicated to the patient and authorized clinician. The invention achieves that by describing an innovative product architecture that integrating micro-needles with micro-sensors in a low cost disposable unit, a specially designed applicator for ease of use and automated wireless transmission and data analytics.

摘要: A bridge support (1, 60, 90, 140) for arrangement to an implant (2) has a surface abutting (30) the implant (2), and a first compressible sealing (31) integrally made with said surface (30). The bridge support (1, 60, 90, 140) has a through channel (33) ending at said surface and is shaped so that a shoulder (34) is formed inside said channel (33), and has a second compressible sealing (35) integrally made with said shoulder (33). According to a second embodiment the bridge support (1, 60, 90, 140) has external protrusion at an outside (160) integrally made with the bridge support (1, 60, 90, 140). A screw (3, 250) for fastening the bridge support (1, 60, 90, 140) to an implant has a head (230, 252) with an abutment surface (231) and a stem (232, 252), and has a compressible sealing (237) integrally made with said abutment surface (230). The stem (232, 252) has an external longitudinal recess (234) or a longitudinal through hole (251). A method for fastening a bridge support (1, 60, 90, 140) to an implant (2) having a bore has the steps of arranging the bridge support (1, 60, 90, 140) so that a first sealing (31) is abutting the implant (2) and a channel (33) of the bridge support (1, 60, 90, 140) is arranged over the bore; inserting the screw (3, 250) into said channel (33) and into said bore, so that an abutment surface (230) of the screw (3) is abutting the shoulder (34) of the channel (33); and fastening the bridge support (1, 60, 90, 140) by screwing the screw (3, 250) while the sealing (237) of the screw (3, 250) cooperates with the second sealing (35) of the bridge support (1, 60, 90, 140) during compression of each sealing (35, 137), and until the first sealing (31) of the bridge support (1, 60, 90, 140) is compressed against the implant (2). A method for discharging fluid from a bore of an implant provides a longitudinal external recess (234) or a longitudinal through hole (251) of a screw (3, 250).

摘要: A method and device for forming an optical or magnetic memory medium or a template for making such memory media, including suspending an essentially flat substrate rotatably about an axis, arranging a particle beam source to expose the surface layer to a particle beam, rotating the substrate such that the particle beam forms a groove in the surface layer by exposure to a predetermined degree, which groove has a width on the order of 1-100 nm, and controlling the position of the particle beam and the axis relative to each other, during rotation of the substrate about the axis so that part of the groove is subjected to more than one exposure to the particle beam, whereby the groove is formed as a sum of said more than one exposure, which sum corresponds to said predetermined degree of exposure.
