    摘要: A light-emitting tube array display device includes a light-emitting tube array, a flexible sheet and a plurality of electrodes. The light-emitting tube array is constituted of a plurality of light-emitting tubes arranged in parallel. Each of the light-emitting tubes consists of narrow tube having a phosphor layer disposed and discharge gas filled inside. The flexible sheet is capable of flatly supporting the light-emitting tube array and deforming the light emitting tube array in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the light-emitting tubes. The plurality of electrodes are formed on a face of the flexible sheet opposed to the light-emitting tubes, which are capable of generating discharge inside the light-emitting tubes by an application of voltage. Each of the electrodes is formed of a metal film having a mesh pattern, a ladder pattern, or a comb-shape pattern.

    摘要: A method of displaying a dynamic halftone image on a display panel made of pixels divides each frame of the image into subframes and turns on and off the subframes. The method includes the steps of finding a line of pixels that simultaneously display a specific intensity level in a frame and another specific intensity level in the next frame, counting the number of pixels in the line, selecting corrective pulses, which turn on/off corresponding subframes to enable/disable corresponding intensity levels, according to the counted number and a change in the specific intensity levels between the frames, and adjusting original display signals for the pixels in the line according to the corrective pulses, respectively. The method eliminates halftone disturbance and false color contours from the image even if the moving speed of the image on the display panel is high.

    摘要: Disclosed here is a panel structure for a large size display which utilizes the gas discharge panel called the surface discharge type panel. Among a pair of substrates arranged face to face in order to define the gas discharge space, the one substrate which is used as the electrode supporting substrate is composed of the composite substrate body where plurality of small size substrates which can be produced comparatively easily with high production yield are combined in such a form that the side edge surfaces of said substrates are aligned face to face, while the other substrate which is used as the covering substrate is composed of a large size single substrate in such a size same as said composite substrate body. Such substrate structure realizes a large size gas discharge panel having a high production yield, without requiring the large scale production facility.

This allows the light emitting portion to have a smaller thickness, and widens the choices of substrate materials for the electrode board. Further, the light emitting portion and the electrode board can be separately produced, so that the degree of freedom is increased in the production of the display device. Therefore, the light emitting portion and the electrode board can be produced in different steps or in different production lines. Further, the light emitting portion, the electrode board and other components can be individually evaluated for quality, thereby reducing the production costs of the display device.
