    摘要: A light-emitting tube array display device includes a light-emitting tube array, a flexible sheet and a plurality of electrodes. The light-emitting tube array is constituted of a plurality of light-emitting tubes arranged in parallel. Each of the light-emitting tubes consists of narrow tube having a phosphor layer disposed and discharge gas filled inside. The flexible sheet is capable of flatly supporting the light-emitting tube array and deforming the light emitting tube array in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the light-emitting tubes. The plurality of electrodes are formed on a face of the flexible sheet opposed to the light-emitting tubes, which are capable of generating discharge inside the light-emitting tubes by an application of voltage. Each of the electrodes is formed of a metal film having a mesh pattern, a ladder pattern, or a comb-shape pattern.

    摘要: A method of displaying a dynamic halftone image on a display panel made of pixels divides each frame of the image into subframes and turns on and off the subframes. The method includes the steps of finding a line of pixels that simultaneously display a specific intensity level in a frame and another specific intensity level in the next frame, counting the number of pixels in the line, selecting corrective pulses, which turn on/off corresponding subframes to enable/disable corresponding intensity levels, according to the counted number and a change in the specific intensity levels between the frames, and adjusting original display signals for the pixels in the line according to the corrective pulses, respectively. The method eliminates halftone disturbance and false color contours from the image even if the moving speed of the image on the display panel is high.

    摘要: A matrix display panel of first and second substrates having respective main surfaces in parallel and opposed relationship has parallel address electrodes and respective continuous phosphor stripes arranged within corresponding elongated cavities on the main surface of the first substrate, extending in a first direction. A driving system drives the panel in accordance with color image data defining successive color images to be displayed in respective, successive image frames, the color image data of each frame defining respective relative brightness gradation levels and comprising a plurality of subframes wherein lines are concurrently activated in each subframe and each subframe includes an addressing period for addressing a pixel by selectively applying a write pulse to each selected one of the pixels, the write pulse forming a memory medium in a selected one of all the pixels, a display period for lighting said addressed pixel by a concurrent application of sustain pulses to all the pixels, each subframe being allocated with a predetermined number of the sustain pulses so as to weight a gradation to said respective subframe, wherein a gradation of visual brightness of the lit pixel is determined by selectively operating the subframe for each of the pixels for each frame.
