    摘要: Communication devices may determine routes and/or may select a route for communicating data between a first communication device and a second communication device. The selected route may require the least power consumption. The determined routes may be ranked based on an amount of power required for routing the data. The data may be routed among devices based on the ranking. Power consumption of a device may be determined based on a bandwidth associated with the device. Route selection may be based on availability of power for power sources of the communication devices. The selection of routes may be based on a current power consumption and/or a history of prior power consumption of the communication devices. The selection of a route which may require least power consumption may be optimized based on the availability of bandwidth.

Physical layer device technology can be implemented into a configurable device (e.g., handheld device) to perform diagnostics. The configurable device can be enabled for diagnostics through an authentication module that performs an authentication and/or licensing function. Diagnostic information (e.g., channel characteristics, data analysis, traffic analysis, packet analysis, bit analysis, etc.) can be displayed on a display of the configurable device to assist field personnel.

    摘要: Aspects of a method and system for data exchange with a multimedia and Ethernet enabled LAN subsystem are provided. A networking subsystem may receive a protocol data unit via a network link, extract audio and/or video data from the protocol data unit, and communicate the audio and/or video data to an audio and/or video processor via a bus that bypasses the one or both of a northbridge and a southbridge. A networking subsystem may receive audio and/or video data from an audio and/or video processor via a bus that bypasses said one or both of a northbridge and a southbridge, encapsulate the audio and/or video data into a protocol data unit, and transmit the protocol data unit onto a network link. The protocol data unit may be received over said the network link utilizing Ethernet physical layer protocols. The bus may be scaled based on a type, format, and/or rate of data communicated over it.
