    摘要: In a quadrupole mass spectrometer which includes four parallel rod electrodes between opposite pairs of which overlapping voltages.+-.(U+V cos .omega. t) are applied (where U: a continuous voltage and V cos .omega. t: a radio-frequency voltage) and which effects mass-analysis by an electric field formed within the four parallel rod electrodes, at least one parameter of U, V and .omega. has two different values, and the values are changed over to select the first stable region or the second stable region, the first stable region being nearest to the original point and the second stable region being next near to the original point on the a - q plane (where a:ordinate, q:abscissa) showing "stability diagram", and the ions being able to pass through the four parallel electrodes under the conditions of the first and second stable regions, where the variable a=8eU/mr.sub.O.sup.2 .omega..sup.2, q=4eV/mr.sub.O.sup.2 .omega..sup.2, U: level of DC voltage, V: peak of the radio-frequency voltage, e: charge of ion, m:mass of ion, r.sub.O : radius of an inscribed circle of the four parallel rod electrodes and.omega.: angular frequency of the radio frequency voltage.

    摘要: A pair of flanges are fixed to a pipe end of a port of a plasma vacuum vessel and another pipe end to be connected thereto. These flanges each have a ring-shaped knife edge. A copper gasket is interposed between the respective knife edges of the two flanges. A predetermined number of bolts are tightened to fix the flanges to each other. As a result, the knife edges bite into the copper gasket, and a linear sealing load from the knife edges acts on the gasket, thereby sealing and isolating the space inside the port from the outside. The number n of bolts are given by3(B+28)/65-0.ltoreq.n.ltoreq.3(B+28)/65+0.02B,and the flange thickness t is given by ##EQU1## where B is the diameter of a circle passing through the respective central axes of the n number of bolts. Thus, the bolt number and the flange thickness are reduced without lowering the sealing performance.

    摘要: An impeller type pump has a pump body consisting of a front casing and a back casing. Each of the casings comprises a ceramic main portion and a protection member covering the main portion. The protection members of both the main portions are interconnected with each other at their confronting marginal portions through a continuous packing. Those confronting marginal portions of both the main portions which are adjacent to a pump chamber defined by inner surfaces of both the main portions are provided each with an annular rib such that the annular ribs of both the main portions define a narrowed clearance restricting the flow of waste water therebetween, resulting in reduction of wear of the packing.
