摘要： A personal wear article capable of alerting a wearer to the wearer's release of liquid body exudates. The article includes an absorbent structure and a wetness indicator adapted to receive said liquid body exudates. The wetness indicator stiffens as it absorbs the liquid body exudates and applies a tactile sensation against the wearer's skin. The wetness indicator is positioned relative to a portion of the absorbent structure having an absorbent capacity gradient such that the absorbent capacity of the absorbent structure increases as the absorbent structure extends generally from the position of the wetness indicator in a direction generally away from the position of the wetness indicator. In another embodiment, the article includes a temperature change agent responsive to the liquid body exudates to change the temperature of the liquid body exudates to thereby facilitate a temperature change sensation against the wearer's skin.

摘要： A wound dressing is formed from a covering release layer, a dressing layer, an indicator layer, a transparent or translucent indicator bonding layer and a transparent or translucent outer covering. The indicator layer contains a dye which changes color on contact with water. When the dressing layer becomes saturated, water permeates the indicator layer and triggers a color change. 摘要： The present invention is a reusable wetness indicating cloth diaper which uses a thermally sensitive indicator to indicate that the diaper has become soiled. The diaper of the present invention includes material which at least partially thermally insulates the outer surface from said inner surface and an indicator on the outer surface which provides a visual indication when the outer surface has a temperature above a given threshold. The temperature threshold is chosen such that the visual indication will generally not be present when a baby wearing said diaper is dry, but will generally be present when the baby secretes waste material into the diaper. A thermochromic ink indicates a temperature change in the diaper. A plurality of discrete indicators are distributed over substantially the entire outer surface of the diaper with the indicators forming a repeating pattern. Desirably, the indicators cover a significant portion of the outer shell of the diaper so that the wetness condition can be easily detected from most viewing angles of the diaper in an aesthetically pleasing manner.

摘要： A wetness indicating hot-melt adhesive which changes color in response to the presence of moisture is disclosed, which contains 20 to 70 wt. % of polymer, about 28 to 10 wt. % of which is water sensitive polymer; 25 to 60% of organic acid which is selected from a high acid fatty acid, or rosin acid, or a combination thereof; 0 to 40% of water soluble wax; 0 to 60 wt. % of glycerlo monostearate; 0 to 55 wt. % of hydrogenated castor oil; 0 to 15 wt. % of polyalkylene wax; 0 to 60 wt. % of compatible plasticizer; and a wetness indicating agent which changes the color of the composition in response to moisture therein. The time of response of the color change can be controlled from about one second to a somewhat larger value as desired.

摘要： A feminine care absorbent article (e.g., feminine care pad, sanitary napkin, incontinence article, pantiliner, etc.) that employs a color changing indicator graphic for signaling to the wearer an appropriate time to remove and/or replace the feminine care absorbent article following a liquid insult. This can be particularly useful in warm environments in which a wearer may secrete a significant amount of perspiration which may act as a carrier for microorganisms. In this manner, the wearer can wear the article without fear of a bacterial infection and/or the generation of an odor. After a time period of usage, the wearer can visually inspect the color of the color changing indicator graphic for an indication of whether it is time to remove and/or replace the feminine care absorbent article.
