摘要: Disclosed are embodiments of a three-dimensional (3D) printer for building 3D objects with layer based, additive manufacturing techniques. The 3D printer can have an extrusion assembly including a hot end for heating consumable material and depositing the consumable material in layers on a printing bed. The hot end can be moved in a horizontal plane parallel the printing bed while the printing bed can be moved perpendicular to the horizontal plane to print the 3D object.

摘要: A method of forming a bag assembly by RF welding includes generating from a single source of RF energy a high frequency electric field having a first strength between tube-welding electrodes of opposing die members and a second strength less than said first strength between perimeter-welding electrodes of the opposing die members. Subjecting a tube assembly and corresponding portions of sheets surrounding the tube assembly to the high frequency electric field of said first strength for a predetermined amount of time to weld the sheets to a tube along a tube-weld. Corresponding portions of the sheets between the perimeter-welding electrodes are subjected to the high frequency electric field of said second strength for said predetermined amount of time to weld the sheets together along a bladder perimeter-weld. The subjecting steps are performed simultaneously so that the bag assembly is formed in one welding operation.

摘要: A cover foil is sealed to a foil formed with an array of blisters by a drive roller centered on an axis and having a generally cylindrical outer surface formed with an array of outwardly open recesses complementary to the array of blisters. The outer surface is annularly continuous and formed of an at least limitedly elastically deformable material. The roller further is formed inward of the outer surface with at least one pressurizable chamber. The blister foil engages the drive roller with the blisters fitting into the recesses. A sealing roller presses a cover foil radially against the blister foil on the drive roller and thereby seals the cover foil to the blister foil between the blisters. A source of compressed air is connected to the drive roller for pressurizing the chamber and thereby changing a circumference of the drive-roller outer surface and an angular spacing between the recesses.

摘要: A horizontal form fill packaging and sealing apparatus comprises a film dispenser and a film forming plow which, together with a roller guide, forms the film to be sealed into a tube with the free edges at the side. The object to be packaged is inserted into the film tube. The free edges of the film are longitudinally sealed together at the side of the package by a rotary heat sealer and immediately cooled to approximate impulse sealing, and a cross seal is made at the front and back of the object to be packaged. The excess gas in the package is pressed out by a presser before the back cross seal is made.

摘要: A method of making plastic toric lenses by casting a liquid monomer in a container having the required toric curve on the bottom of the container, polymerizing the monomer to form a solid having a toric optical surface formed within the container and cutting a second optical surface on the solid lens material with the container supporting the lens material during the cutting and polishing operation.The container or mold used for casting the lens is made by applying pressure to two opposing sides of a heat softened resinous cylinder to change the shape of the cylinder from a circle to an ellipse, and to change the bottom shape of the cylinder from a spherical surface to a toric surface. The cylinder is then allowed to cool before the pressure is removed.
