摘要: A method for improving fuel efficiency and reducing frictional properties while maintaining or improving deposit control, in an engine lubricated with a lubricating oil by using as the lubricating oil a formulated oil. The formulated oil has a composition including from 75 to 95 wt % of lubricating oil base stock including a Group I base stock or a combination of a Group III, Group IV and Group V base stock including from 30 to 35 wt % Group III, 45 to 55 wt % Group IV and 0 to 5 wt % Group V and a friction modifier mixture comprising a polymeric ethoxylated fatty acid ester at from 0.1 to 1.0 wt. % and a mixed glyceride ester at from 0.1 to 1.0 wt. % of the formulated oil. The lubricating engine oils are useful in internal combustion engines including direct injection, gasoline and diesel engines.

摘要: The invention relates to lubricating compositions, processes of making such lubricating compositions, and method of using such lubricating compositions. The lubricating compositions of the present invention include a dispersant comprising a quaternary ammonium salt, a phosphorus-containing compound, a metal dialkyldithiophosphate, a derivative of a hydroxyl carbonyl compound and an amine and/or an alcohol. These compositions provide balanced deposit control and wear performance without causing any seal compatibility issues.

The lubricant composition includes a base oil, a) a metal-containing phosphorus antiwear compound in an amount sufficient to provide from about 100 to about 1000 ppm by weight phosphorus based on a total weight of the lubricant composition, and b) an oxygen-polymerized vegetable oil, different from the base oil. The base oil is present in the lubricant composition in an amount from about 50 wt. % to about 99 wt. % based on the total weight of the lubricant composition.

摘要: The present invention relates to an engine oil lubricant composition for use in internal combustion engines comprising one or more molybdenum containing compounds that deliver 1-1000 ppm molybdenum to the finished oil, one or more phosphorus containing compounds that deliver 25-650 ppm phosphorus to the finished oil, and one or more poly(meth)acrylate viscosity index improvers (VI improvers) that may or may not be functionalized, for improved fuel economy and turbocharger related deposits. In addition, the composition comprises an antioxidant system which is carefully balanced to provide improved fuel economy, comprising an aminic antioxidant, a phenolic antioxidant and an ashless dithiocarbamate. Additionally, the formulated oil may contain a dispersant poly(meth)acrylate, in addition to the PAMA VI improver, to reduce the amount of traditional succinimide dispersants.

The oil composition may be effective in improving fuel economy by reduction of friction on sliding parts of vehicle engines and in preventing abrasion of the engines by effective dispersion of soot in respective parts of the engines. The oil composition comprises a detergent dispersant, a friction reducer and a viscosity controller, which are suitably optimized at a mix ratio of those components.
