Abstract:
The invention relates to a tire having a radial carcass reinforcement, consisting of at least one layer of reinforcing elements anchored in each of the beads by an upturn around a bead wire, said carcass reinforcement upturn being reinforced by at least one layer of reinforcing elements or stiffener, the radially outer end of which is radially on the outside of the end of the upturn. According to the invention, the reinforcing elements of at least one stiffener are non-wrapped metal cords with saturated layers, having, in what is called the permeability test, a flow rate of less than 5 cm3/min and the distance between the radially outer end of the stiffener and the end of the carcass reinforcement upturn is less than 5 mm.
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing an elevator includes installing a movable supporting platform and an elevator car in the elevator hoistway; taking the elevator car into use to serve passengers and/or to transport goods; removing the elevator car from use; changing the service range of the elevator car to reach higher up in the elevator hoistway by lifting the supporting platform higher up in the elevator hoistway; and taking the elevator car back into use. The elevator is reeved to include construction-time hoisting roping, which includes one or more ropes, the longitudinal power transmission capacity of which is based at least essentially on non-metallic fibers in the longitudinal direction of the rope. In the method, guide rails to be fixed with guide rail brackets can additionally be installed by the aid of an installation device. An elevator arrangement can be used to perform the method.
Abstract:
Elevator, which comprises at least an elevator car and means for moving the elevator car, preferably along guide rails, and an overspeed governor arrangement, which comprises an overspeed governor rope, which moves according to the movement of the elevator car, and which overspeed governor rope is connected to a brake arrangement that is in connection with the elevator car such that with the overspeed governor rope force can be transmitted to the brake arrangement for shifting the brake comprised in the brake arrangement into a braking position. The rope comprises a power transmission part or a plurality of power transmission parts, for transmitting force in the longitudinal direction of the rope, which power transmission part is essentially fully of non-metallic material.
Abstract:
An annular core stranded bead wire having a reduced weight and offering ease in manufacturing and handling and a vehicle tire using such a bead wire are provided. The annular core stranded bead wire 2 has a metal annular core 11 and a sheath layer 13 constituted of a side wire 12 wound in a spiral pattern around the annular core: the side wire 12 is prepared by wrapping a side wire main body 21 made of aramid fiber with a pair of steel wires 22.
Abstract:
In the stranding machine 22, a rotating force about a wire material drawing direction (X-direction) is applied to a plurality of wire materials 18A to 18C drawn from bobbins 14A to 14C by rotation of a rotating body 30 arranged on a position apart from the bobbins 14A to 14C in the wire material drawing direction (X-direction), so that a stranded wire is formed. Therefore, the plurality of wire materials 18A to 18C does not rotate in the bobbins 14A to 14C at a stranded point 26 of the plurality of wire materials 18A to 18C. As a result, when the plurality of wire materials 18A to 18C is coated with unvulcanized rubber 88 in the rubber coating section 28, the plurality of wire materials 18A to 18C does not cross the inside of the unvulcanized rubber. For this reason, the unvulcanized rubber 88 sufficiently fills spaces between the plurality of wire materials 88, and sufficiently adheres to the surface of each of the wire materials 18A to 18C.
Abstract:
A compact metal cable having two layers (C1, C2) of construction 1+N, rubberized in situ, usable in particular as a reinforcing element for a tire belt for a heavy industrial vehicle, comprising a core or inner layer (C1) comprising a single core wire of diameter d1, and a saturated outer layer (C2) of N wires of diameter d2 wound together in a helix at a pitch p2 around the layer C1, said layered cable being characterized: in that it has the following characteristics (d1, d2, p2 in mm): 0.15
Abstract:
Disclosed are high strength wellbore electric cables, which are formed from a plurality of strength members. The strength members are formed from several stranded filament wires which may be encased within a jacket of polymeric material. The strength members may be used as a central strength member, or even layered around a central axially positioned component or strength member, to form a layer of strength members. Cables of the invention may be of any practical design, including monocables, coaxial cables, quadcables, heptacables, slickline cables, multi-line cables, etc., and have improved resistant to corrosion, torque balancing, and gas migration from a wellbore to the surface.

Abstract:
An elevator rope includes: an inner layer rope; an inner layer covering body of resin and covering the outer periphery of the inner layer rope; an outer layer located in the outer periphery of the inner layer covering body; and an outer layer covering body of a high-friction resin material and covering the outer periphery of the outer layer. The inner layer rope has inner layer strands. The outer layer has a outer layer strands and adhesive layers glued to the outer periphery of the outer layer strands. The inner layer strands have exposed portions partially exposed through the outer periphery of the inner layer covering body, with the exposed portions being in direct contact with the outer layer.
Abstract:
A strand 41, which is formed by twisting filaments 41a, is inserted through an untwisting device 48. The filaments 41a are untwisted and a predetermined space S is formed between the filaments. In this state, a rubber membrane coating is formed on the periphery of each filament 41a. Then, the filament is retwisted to form a rubber membrane coated strand 59. Therefore, the rubber membrane coated strand 59 has a predetermined strength against external force and is adequately adhered to the rubber so that the rubber membrane coated strand resists corrosion, absorbs vibration, and suppresses frictional heating. A belt and a ply, which use the strand, are provided.
