摘要: A system for performing dimension checkings of mechanical pieces includes a contact detecting probe (4) with wireless transmission, for example by means of a single radiofrequency two-way communication link (14), with respect to a base station (10) connected to an interface unit (11). The probe includes a logic unit (36) and a memory unit (38) in which there reside the values of some operation parameters, for example the transmission frequency and/or the activation mode of the probe. The values of the operation parameters can be modified in a programming phase, according to a method that foresees the wireless transmission of control signals from a manually operated control device-carried out, for example, in the interface unit-to the probe, for giving the updating of the values among the selectable values of a sequence residing in the probe, and the acquisition of the current value. The generation of the former control signals is activated by manually operating keys of the interface unit on the basis of information-regarding the parameter under consideration and its associated current value-observable on a display, for example in the interface unit, information visualized on the basis of signals transmitted from the probe.

摘要: An angle detecting head provided with an emitter and a pair of receivers is rocked, and a bent surface of a workpiece bent by a punch and a die of a bending machine is irradiated with a measurement light from the emitter, a reflected light is received by the pair of receivers, and a bending angle of the workpiece is obtained from a peak value of the light received by the respective receivers. The angle detecting head is movable parallel to the die, is movable in a direction close to and away from the workpiece, and is movable in a direction in which the die is raised/lowered. The angle detecting head is positioned in an optimum angle measurement position of the workpiece and the bending angle is measured. Moreover, the bending machine presses the workpiece to the vicinity of a target angle, measures the bending angle of the workpiece during final pressing, removes pressure to bring the workpiece to an unloaded state, measures the bending angle of the workpiece, and obtains and stores a difference between the final pressing angle measured value and the unloaded angle measured value as a spring-back amount.

摘要: In a grinding machine a measurement arrangement is provided for the monitoring of the processing of a work piece, especially to make tools. The measuring arrangement uses, preferably, combined transmitted-light and incident-light based techniques so that both the edges and surfaces and depressions on the work piece are detected precisely. The automatic measurements makes it possible to automatically adjust the process parameters for the grinding process so that changes due to temperature drift, mechanical imprecisions of the mechanical system of the grinding machine or wear on the grinding disks are automatically compensated. This makes possible production of relatively large batches within very close tolerances and with high precision.

摘要: This invention provides an engraving method and apparatus for engraving a plurality of cells which define a pattern defining at least one edge on a surface of a cylinder. The method and apparatus generate an edge signal corresponding to at least edge cell situated in a pattern defining at least one edge on the surface. The system and method may utilize a tabulator for tabulating a table of data corresponding to an image and a locator for locating the edge using the data. The system and method provide a signal generator which can cause the engraving location of an engraved area to be shifted to facilitate defining the at least one edge. Moreover, the signal generator may also cause the area to be reduced in order to change a predetermined characteristic of the area in order to better define the at least one edge. Thus, the invention facilitates adjusting a characteristic of at least one of the engraved areas in order to change a spacial relationship between the engraved area and another engraved are to provide, for example, a non-regular or non-periodic spacing of engraved areas. The invention provides a shaping data generator for generating shaping data to be used to modify the image data corresponding to an area to be engraved to redefine at least a portion of the data to provide an engraved area having a desired shape.

摘要: A includes system and method for determining an actual volume measurement for an engraved area on a surface of a workpiece, such as a cylinder. The system and method is capable of capturing an image of an engraved area, determining a plurality of cross-section volumes for a plurality of cross-sectional areas using the image, and generating a plurality of volume values in response thereto. The system and method sum the volume for the plurality of cross-sectional areas to provide a total engraved area actual volume value. If necessary, the system and method causes an engraver to be adjusted during a set-up procedure or during real-time operation to ensure that the densities of the areas being engraved correspond to desired densities. A computer associated with the engraver utilizes an image to determine a stylus profile from which engraved area measurements can be determined. The computer further adjusts the engraved drive signal by applying a gamma correction curve if the actual measurements deviate from a desired measurement by more than a predetermined amount. The engraving system and method also adjusts the engraved drive signal to eliminate engraved areas having densities less than a predetermined amount in order to eliminate undesired "scum dots" or engraved areas having a density less than, for example, three percent of maximum density.
