Abstract: Database repairing methods and electronic devices are disclosed. In an implementation, a method includes, in response to determining that a first database file is corrupted, obtaining data of at least one field in the first database file, wherein the at least one field is predefined by an application, and generating a first data table in a second database file based on the data of the at least one field, wherein the second database file is obtained through repairing.

Abstract: Methods, non-transitory computer readable media, and database activity monitor devices that deploy a monitoring proxy into a virtual private cloud (VPC) network hosted by a first public cloud network following detection in the VPC network of a new database associated with an entity. The monitoring proxy is configured to obtain and report the activity data based on a first database type of the cloud database. A determination is made when at least one security check defined in at least one security policy is violated based on an analysis of the activity data. An alert is automatically output via a communication network, when the determination indicates the security check is violated. One or more interactive dashboards are generated and output based on the activity data. The interactive dashboards comprise a historical database activity report for the entity.

Abstract: A plurality of computing devices are communicatively coupled to each other via a network, and each of the plurality of computing devices comprises one or more of a plurality of storage devices. A plurality of failure resilient address spaces are distributed across the plurality of storage devices such that each of the plurality of failure resilient address spaces spans a plurality of the storage devices. Each one of the plurality of failure resilient address spaces is organized into a plurality of stripes. Each one or more stripes of the plurality of stripes is part of a respective one of a plurality of forward error correction (FEC) protection domains. Each of the plurality of stripes may comprise a plurality of storage blocks. Each block of a particular one of the plurality of stripes may reside on a different one of the plurality of storage devices.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to providing data views from a time-series data lake to a data warehousing system. In various embodiments, the disclosed techniques include providing, by a cloud-based service, a data lake service that maintains a time-series data lake storing a time-series representation of data from a plurality of data sources associated with a first organization. In some embodiments, the cloud-based service may receive additional backup data, including a first backup image of a first data source, associated with the first organization as part of a backup operation. The cloud-based service may then store a logical backup of the first data source in the data lake and, in response to a query from a data warehousing system, the cloud-based service may retrieve a particular view of the backup data from the data lake and provide it to the data warehousing system.

Abstract: A first forwarding VM may execute in a first availability zone and have a first IP address. Similarly, a second forwarding VM may execute in a second availability zone and have a second IP address. The first and second IP addresses may be recorded with a cloud DNS web service of a cloud provider such that both receive requests from applications directed to a particular DNS name acting as a single endpoint. A service cluster may include a master VM node and a standby VM node. An IPtable in each forwarding VM may forward a request having a port value to a cluster port value associated with the master VM node. Upon a failure of the master VM node, the current standby VM node may be promoted to execute in master mode and the IPtables may be updated to now forward requests having the port value to a cluster port value associated with the newly promoted master VM node (which was previously the standby VM node).

Abstract: An information management system allows a user to search through a secondary copy of data, such as a backup, archive, or snapshot without first retrieving the secondary copy of data. Instead, the system constructs lightweight data that can be displayed to a user as a representation of the search results. Lightweight data may include metadata or other information that identifies data included in the secondary copy of data. The lightweight data may be perceived as being the secondary copy of data and allow a user to browse through search results. Once the user identifies a search result that is of interest, information in the lightweight data can be used to retrieve the secondary copy of data. Because lightweight data may have a smaller file size than the file size of the secondary copy of data, the latency of performing a search may be reduced.

Abstract: Techniques described herein relate to systems and methods of data storage, and more particularly to providing layering of file system functionality on an object interface. In certain embodiments, file system functionality may be layered on cloud object interfaces to provide cloud-based storage while allowing for functionality expected from a legacy applications. For instance, POSIX interfaces and semantics may be layered on cloud-based storage, while providing access to data in a manner consistent with file-based access with data organization in name hierarchies. Various embodiments also may provide for memory mapping of data so that memory map changes are reflected in persistent storage while ensuring consistency between memory map changes and writes. For example, by transforming a ZFS file system disk-based storage into ZFS cloud-based storage, the ZFS file system gains the elastic nature of cloud storage.

Abstract: A log-structured data store implementing data backup may implement variable data replication. Write requests may be received at different storage nodes maintaining respective replicas of a portion of a log for data maintained in the log-structured data store. Log records indicating the write requests may be stored in the respective replicas of the log portions at the different storage nodes. The log records may be sent to a backup data store to be durability persisted as part of an archived version of the log. At some of the storage nodes, in response to determining that the log records have been durably persisted in the backup data store, storage space for the log records may be reclaimed. In other remaining storage nodes, the log records may be retained and made accessible for servicing read requests.

Abstract: A method for obtaining a valid global state for a distributed database, wherein the distributed database includes main nodes storing a complete dataset, and a plurality of subsets of nodes configured to store a part of the dataset, including: a. receiving a request for providing a valid global state of the distributed database, b. determining a first local state for each subset based on status information of nodes of the respective subset regarding the respective part of the dataset, c. combining these first local states of all subsets to a first combined state, d. determining a global state by the main nodes based on status information of the main nodes regarding the stored dataset, e. verifying the first combined state by matching the first combined state with the global state and f. outputting the first combined state as valid global state for the distributed database depending on the verification.

Abstract: Provided herein are systems and methods for automating the rollout of database changes. For example, a method includes detecting a change in database code of a database resulting in a changed database code. The change in the database code includes a parameter rollout for at least one parameter setting of the database. Execution of a query associated with the change in the database code is monitored. The query uses the at least one parameter setting. A regression in the changed database code is detected based on the monitoring. Impact analysis is performed to determine a scope of impact of the regression on at least another query using the at least one parameter setting. A determination is made on whether to perform a rollback of the change in the database code or perform mitigation based on the scope of impact.
