    摘要: Described is a process for preparing triconjugated dienones defined according to the structure: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl, phenyl or phenyl methyl and wherein R.sub.2 represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 lower alkyl; and wherein the wavy lines are indicative of a "Cis" or a "trans" juxtaposition of the R.sub.2, methyl, acyl or vinyl moieties about one or both of the carbon-carbon double bonds which process involves the reaction of an acyl halide having the structure: ##STR2## with a substituted or unsubstituted prenyl ester having the structure: ##STR3## wherein R.sub.3 represents C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl in the presence of an aluminum chloride catalyst and a methylene dichloride solvent in order to form the novel intermediate genus defined according to the structure: ##STR4## then dehydrohalogenating the compound defined according to the structure: ##STR5## using an alkali metal carbonate and a dimethylformamide solvent in order to form the novel compound genus having the structure: ##STR6## wherein one of the dashed lines represents a carbon-carbon double bond and the other of the dashed lines represents a carbon-carbon single bond; and then dehydroacyloxylating the compound having the structure: ##STR7## in order to form the compound having the structure: ##STR8## the dehydroacyloxylation step taking place in the presence of an alkali metal carbonate and dimethylformamide solvent.

    摘要: Microcapsules having a core of an alkaloidal material surrounded by a protective cross-linked polymeric wall are disclosed. The microcapsules are produced by intermixing a polymeric wall material with a liquid vehicle to form a solution thereof as a continuous first phase, and mixing the solution with an alkaloidal material. The produced admixture is agitated to disperse the alkaloidal material as a plurality of discrete minute core material entities in the first phase, and thereafter, phase separation is induced to separate the polymeric wall material from the liquid vehicle so that the wall material forms embryonic sheaths about the core material entities. The polymeric wall material is then cross-linked to form protective walls around each of the core material entities.

    摘要: Described are compounds having the generic structure: ##STR1## wherein the dashed line represents a carbon-carbon single bond or a carbon-carbon double bond and wherein R.sub.2 is methyl or hydrogen; R.sub.6 is methyl or hydrogen; R.sub.1, R.sub.3 or R.sub.7 represent methyl or hydrogen, with the proviso that one of R.sub.1, R.sub.3 and R.sub.7 represents methyl and the other two of R.sub.1, R.sub.3 and R.sub.7 represent hydrogen; wherein R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are the same or different and each represents hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 lower alkyl. In addition, organoleptic uses of such compounds are disclosed for augmenting or enhancing the aroma or taste of consumable materials including foodstuffs, chewing gums, toothpastes, medicinal products, chewing tobaccos, smoking tobaccos, smoking tobacco articles, perfumes, perfumed articles (such as liquid or solid anionic, cationic, nonionic or zwitterionic detergents, fabric softeners, dryer-added fabric softener articles, fabric brighteners and other perfumed articles and colognes). Also disclosed is a process for preparing such compounds according to the reaction scheme: ##STR2## wherein R" represents C.sub.1 C.sub.3 alkyl; m+n=3 with the further proviso that m is 1 or 2 and n is 1 or 2; and wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 are as defined above.

    摘要: A process for artificially curing mature green tobacco is provided wherein the tobacco is immersed in an acidic medium and incubated therein at at least room temperature until the desired color develops. Incubation at pH 1.5 to 3.5 at about 50.degree. C. for as little as 3 hours may be sufficient to eliminate the green color and green smoke taste and odor of the tobacco.
