Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for conditioning a fabric comprising the step of contacting the fabric with an aqueous medium comprising a composition, wherein the composition comprises: (a) a quaternary ammonium compound; (b) a cationic polysaccharide; and (c) a nonionic polysaccharide. In particular, the quaternary ammonium compound is a biodegradable quaternary ammonium compound. The composition has excellent softening performance and improved perfume longevity. The present invention also relates to use of said composition for conditioning a fabric.

Abstract: The fuel filter (1) contains a filter element (4) and an additive tank (13) in a housing (2, 3). The filter element is engaged against the removable cover (3) of the housing and has a filter medium (5) extending in an annular manner around an inner space (9). An additive release device (32) extends into this inner space (9) to distribute liquid additive from the tank (13) into a fuel circulation circuit for an internal combustion engine. The additive selectively flows into a sealed distribution channel (DC) of the device (32) depending on an open or closed configuration of an actuator component (62) associated with the distribution channel. The distribution channel (DC) opens into a fuel channel (52) of the cover (3) that has a larger cross-section than the distribution channel (DC).

Abstract: Biocidal compositions including a phosphonium quaternary surfactant compound and a biopenetrant, wherein the biopenetrant includes an anionic polymer of an anionic unsaturated carboxylic acid or a copolymer of an unsaturated carboxylic acid with a sulphonic acid, the polymer or copolymer being either terminated by vinylphosphonic acid (VPA) or vinylidene-1, 1-diphosphonic acid (VDPA) or having such monomers incorporated into the polymer backbone. The compositions preferably further include a quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactant. The compositions optionally include a tetrakis(hydroxyalkyl)phosphonium salt biocide, wherein the salt is selected from sulphate, phosphite, bromide, fluoride, chloride, phosphate, carbonate, acetate, formate, citrate, borate, and silicate. Methods of using same are also provided.
