The invention is to provide a process for producing a liquid food, characterized by subjecting at least one of coffee, a milk composition, a food material (liquid) containing a component(s) having an antioxidation ability (radical-scavenging activity) and mixed liquids containing one(s) of them to an electrolysis treatment and/or a current passage treatment. Since the invention can prevent quality deterioration of coffee or milk composition over a long period of time without using additives and also improve safety, it is appropriate for producing canned coffee, milk-containing coffee or milk-containing tea drink to be sold in vending machines or can warmers. Further, since the invention can improve the antioxidation ability of foods, the resulting foods can suppress the in-vivo increase of active oxygen and free radicals, it greatly contributes to health.

A surface acoustic wave device having a three-layered structure of sealing resin for sealing a mounting substrate and a surface acoustic wave element in which the elastic modulus of resin of the intermediate layer is higher than that of resin of the outermost layer and the elastic modulus of resin of the innermost layer is lower than that of resin of the outermost layer. The three-layered structure of the sealing resin suppresses crush of a bump when a pressure is applied from the outside and reduces stress applied to the bump due to the change in temperature.

An optically sampling device optically samples an optical analog signal using a sampled signal having a predetermined sampling frequency, and outputs control light having a pulse train of an optically sampled optical analog signal. A signal generating device generates a pulse train of signal light which is synchronized with the sampled signal. An optical encoding device optically encodes the pulse train of the signal light according to the control light, by using optical encoders each including nonlinear optical loop mirrors, and outputs pulse trains of optically encoded signal light from said optical encoders, respectively. An optically quantizing device performs optical threshold processing on the pulse trains of optically-encoded signal light to optically quantize them, by using at least one of optical threshold processors each of which is connected to each of said optical encoders and includes a nonlinear optical device, and outputs optically quantized pulse trains as optical digital signals.

A phase-modulating apparatus includes a spatial light modulator, an input value setting unit, a plurality of sets of reference data, a converting unit, and a driving unit. The input value setting unit sets an input value for each pixel. Each set of reference data corresponds to at least one pixel. The converting unit converts an input value inputted for each pixel to a control value by referencing the corresponding set of reference data. The driving unit converts the control value to a voltage value. The driving unit drives each pixel with a drive voltage corresponding to the voltage value. Each set of reference data correlates a plurality of first values from which input values are taken, and a plurality of second values from which control values are taken to ensure that the relationship between the plurality of first values and phase modulation amounts attained by the corresponding at least one pixel is a prescribed linear relationship.

A biosensor is formed by immobilizing metal particles immobilized on a surface of a carrier and immobilizing probe molecules which are modified with fluorescent molecules on the metal particles. A biomolecule is detected at high sensitivity by use of this biosensor and utilizing fluorescence-quenching and fluorescence-enhancement effects attributable to the metal particle. In this way, it is possible to omit amplification of the biomolecule in a specimen and fluorescence-labeling on the biomolecule when detecting the biomolecule with the biosensor. It is also possible to improve quantitative reliability and repeatability of the biosensor.

An automatic power control filter circuit which outputs a signal corrected to make a laser drive current for driving a laser light emitting element irradiating an optical disc with a laser beam become a desired value, on the basis of a signal obtained by sampling and holding a light emission monitor signal corresponding to an output current of a photodetector for detecting output power of the laser light emitting element, has an offset adjusting circuit which measures and stores an offset voltage of the signal sampled and held when the laser is prevented from emitting light; a first operation circuit which performs offset correction by calculating the offset voltage stored in the offset adjusting circuit and the signal sampled and held when the laser is allowed to emit light; a second operation circuit which calculates an error by comparing a value corrected by the first operation circuit with a value obtained by multiplying a target value by a desired coefficient in order to perform optimum power control; an integrator which integrates the error calculated by the second operation circuit; and a third operation circuit which performs calculation of the output of the integrator and a voltage value obtained by multiplying a desired boost voltage value by the coefficient, and outputs the calculation result, wherein the target value and the boost voltage value are respectively multiplied by the coefficient at the same timing as the optimum power control is performed.

The present invention provides a semiconductor device capable of suppressing current collapse, and also of preventing dielectric breakdown voltage and gain from lowering so as to perform high-voltage operation and realize an ideal high output. On a substrate (101), there are formed a buffer layer (102) made of a first GaN-based semiconductor, a carrier traveling layer (103) made of a second GaN-based semiconductor and a carrier supplying layer (104) made of a third GaN-based semiconductor. A recess structure (108) is made by eliminating a part of a first insulation film (107) and a part of the carrier supplying layer (104). Next, a gate insulation film (109) is deposited, and then a gate electrode (110) is formed so as to fill up the recess portion (108) and cover on over an area where the first insulation film (107) remains so that its portion on the drain electrode side is longer than that on the source electrode side. Such a recess structure is employed so as to provide the high-output semiconductor device capable of performing the high-voltage operation.
