Abstract:
A differential pneumatic door actuator, including pneumatic and electrical controls wherein the actuator is drivingly connected to a door and provided with large and small air cylinders, and a pressure responsive switch monitors the pressure in the large cylinder to actuate a reversing cycle relay when a given pressure is detected during the closing cycle.
Abstract:
An axle pickup generates signals each time a vehicle travels a predetermined distance. Means are provided for measuring distance travelled as well as measuring changes in vehicle speed. If the speed has varied between sequential signals, or if particular events are detected during sequential signals, a tape recorder is actuated to record these occurrences. If there is no speed change and no events occur, the recorder is not actuated thus effecting data compression.
Abstract:
Door operator for a transit vehicle including a primary linkage device for driving the door between open and closed positions and for monitoring door position and a secondary linkage device for monitoring door position. Additionally, a device is provided for locking the door in closed position in association with the secondary linkage device.
Abstract:
A valve of the top entry type, having a unique sealing seat structure which includes a rigid base and a resilient sealing face, together with load bearing inserts for limiting the forces between the plug and the seat. The seats are mounted in the valve structure so that line pressure acts to force the seats against the plug in sealing relation therewith.
Abstract:
A temperature sensor for sensing the temperature of air moving at low velocity including a transducer assembly having a temperature transducer element in association with a shield or case capable of having fast response and a high degree of accuracy at a specified temperature. The temperature transducer element includes a bobbin of plastic film over which wire sensitive to temperature is wound. A cover is provided over the wire, also of plastic film, and is bonded to the wire as is the bobbin to provide a stable assembly capable of withstanding severe shock and vibration. The invention also includes a method of making a temperature transducer assembly and in mounting it within a shield or case to avoid contamination with the air, while not sacrificing performance.
Abstract:
A high-voltage temperature switch for a direct current circuit including a body formed of insulating material and defining an arc chute within which a fusible conductor or link is positioned, wherein the link establishes a circuit and opens upon being subjected to a given temperature to interrupt the circuit, and means for generating a magnetic field across the arc chute about the fusible link to blow out the arc in the event the link opens.
