A guide roll for a porous belt, for instance for the drying wire of a paper machine, is described. A perforated roll shell rotates about a stationary air guide box. The guide box has two air chambers which extend across the length of the guide roll. One air chamber serves the discharge of blowing air and the other air chamber serves the intake and removal of suction air. Contained between the air guide box and the roll shell is an annular space in which a blowing zone and a suction zone are defined by longitudinal seals. Considering that blowing air and suction air may have different temperatures, the two air chambers of the air guide box are movable axially relative to each other.

A control unit contains a memory in which a program having command words is stored, a condition multiplexer with which it is determined whether a condition indicated in a command word exists, and an address unit in which the actual address of the command word to be targeted in the memory resides. For executing interruptions in the program sequencing at any given moment, a further multiplexer, a further address unit and at least one address register are provided. Upon occurrence of an interrupt request, the actual address is brought into the address register and the address of the next command word to be processed is supplied to the address unit by way of the further multiplexer. After termination of the processing of the interrupt request, the content of the address register is again applied to the address unit by means of the further multiplexer. The through-connecting of the further multiplexer is controlled by the further address unit.

The apparatus of the invention includes a blowing device for delivering the respiratory gas, a housing device which has a bottom region, a top surface region and a side region extending upwardly between the top surface region and the cover region, as well as a connecting device for connecting a humidifying apparatus for humidifying the respiratory gas, wherein the connecting device is arranged in the side region of the apparatus in such a way that the humidifying apparatus can be laterally coupled thereto. The humidifying apparatus according to the invention is distinguished by a partial amount discharge device for passing a partial amount of the liquid pre-stored in a liquid storage space into a humidifying region. The respiration tube according to the invention includes a connecting plug structure which has both a respiratory gas connecting portion and also a pressure measuring tube connecting portion.
