Abstract: Polymeric films, which may be adhesive films, and display devices including such polymeric films, wherein a polymeric film includes: a first polymeric layer having two major surfaces, wherein the first polymeric layer includes a first polymeric matrix and particles. The first polymeric layer includes: a first polymeric matrix having a refractive index n1; and particles having a refractive index n2 uniformly dispersed within the first polymeric matrix; wherein the particles are present in an amount of less than 30 vol-%, based on the volume of the first polymeric layer, and have a particle size range of 400 nanometers (nm) to 3000 nm; and wherein n1 is different than n2.

Abstract: Display devices that include: an organic light emitting diode panel having a multilayer construction including one or more adhesive films; and a polymeric film incorporated within the multilayer construction of the organic light emitting diode panel. The polymeric film includes: a first polymeric layer having two major surfaces, wherein the first polymeric layer includes: a first polymer region including a first material having a refractive index of n1; a second region including a network of interconnected pores and channels within the first polymer region; wherein the pores and channels comprise a second material having a refractive index of n2; wherein n1 is different than n2; wherein the first material includes a first elastic polymeric material and optional particles; and wherein the second material includes: a second polymeric material and optional particles; and/or air; and wherein the polymeric film has: a clarity of at least 90%; a visible light transmission of at least 80%; and a bulk haze of 25% to 80%.

Abstract: Curable adhesive compositions are provided that can be cured using ultraviolet or visible light radiation. These curable adhesive compositions, which contain a curable (meth)acrylate copolymer, have a creep compliance that is less than 5(10−4) inverse Pascals at 25° C., a creep compliance that is greater than 1(10−3) inverse Pascals at 70° C., and a shear storage modulus greater than 40 kiloPascals when measured at 25° C. at a frequency of 1 radian/second.

Abstract: The present invention is an assembly layer for a flexible device. Within a temperature range of between about −30° C. to about 90° C., the assembly layer has a shear storage modulus at a frequency of 1 Hz that does not exceed about 2 MPa, a shear creep compliance (J) of at least about 6×10−6 1 /Pa measured at 5 seconds with an applied shear stress between about 50 kPa and about 500 kPa, and a strain recovery of at least about 50% at at least one point of applied shear stress within the range of about 5 kPa to about 500 kPa within about 1 minute after removing the applied shear stress. The assembly layer includes at least one of a polyisoprene, a polybutadiene, an olefin block copolymer, a polyisobutylene, and high alkyl polyolefin.

Abstract: The present invention is an assembly layer for a flexible device. The assembly layer is derived from precursors including an acrylic block copolymer including (a) at least two A block polymeric units that are the reaction product of a first monomer composition comprising an alkyl methacrylate, an aralkyl methacrylate, an aryl methacrylate, or a combination thereof, wherein each A block has a Tg of at least about 50° C., and wherein the acrylic block copolymer comprises about 5 to about 50 weight percent A block, and (b) at least one B block polymeric unit that is the reaction product of a second monomer composition comprising an alkyl (meth)acrylate, a heteroalkyl (meth)acrylate, a vinyl ester, or a combination thereof, wherein the B block has a Tg no greater than about 10° C., and wherein the acrylic block copolymer comprises about 50 to about 95 weight percent B block. Within a temperature range of between about −30° C. to about 90° C., the assembly layer has a shear storage modulus at a frequency of 1 rad/sec that does not exceed about 2 MPa, a shear creep compliance (J) of at least about 6×10−6 1/Pa measured at 5 seconds with an applied shear stress between about 50 kPa and about 500 kPa, and a strain recovery of at least about 50% at at least one point of applied shear stress within the range of about 5 kPa to about 500 kPa within about 1 minute after removing the applied shear stress.

Abstract: A transparent conductor is provided, including a visible light transparent substrate and metal traces disposed on the substrate, and a layer of a second metal deposited on at least a portion of the metal traces. The transparent conductor further includes a layer of a second metal, which conforms to the surface structure of the metal traces on which it is deposited. Optionally, the transparent conductor also includes a coating layer disposed on a portion of the metal traces and the substrate surface. The coating layer includes a polymer prepared from a polymerizable composition containing at least one ionic liquid monomer. A method of forming a transparent conductor is also provided, including obtaining a visible light transparent substrate having metal traces disposed on the substrate and applying a coating composition on a portion of the metal traces and substrate. The coating composition contains at least one noble metal salt and at least one polymerizable ionic liquid monomer.
