Abstract:
An apparatus and method for heating and stirring a charge of a heat-exchange fluid under pressure for the curing of tires in which both a turbine and an electric motor for driving the turbine are enclosed within a fluid-tight enclosure and in which the turbine and the rotor and stator of the electric motor are entirely immersed within the heat-exchange fluid.
Abstract:
The laying of pieces 40 of cord 4 is assured by a laying tube 30 which receives the cord by placing its inlet facing the outlet of a cord distributor, the knife 85 of which cuts the cord just upstream of the laying tube 30. At the end of the laying tube 30 there is disposed a laying head 32 which is displaced transversely along the support 1 on which the reinforcement is built. The angle of laying of the cord is adjusted by judiciously coordinating the transverse speed of displacement of the head 32 and the speed of rotation of the support 1.
Abstract:
A volumetric pump for paste-like material, for example, unvulcanized rubber, in which a screw 21 feeds a cylinder 11 through ports 12 and in which a delivery piston 10 within the cylinder displaces the material through a non-return valve 15. A process for volumetric pumping of the material utilizing such volumetric pump.
Abstract:
The elements described refer to an apparatus for the manufacture of a tireeinforcement from a single cord. Each lever 2 of the apparatus is provided at its end with a groove 3 which describes a partial oval. The cord is hooked therein. A recess 28 serves as a template for the installation of a bead wire.
Abstract:
A fully electrically controlled electric braking system is provided for a road vehicle fitted with wheels (1). Each of the wheels is connected for rotation to at least one rotary electric machine (2) specific thereto, with at least one electronic wheel control module (23) controlling the electric machine(s) (2) of that wheel. Each electronic wheel control module (23) makes it possible to impart selectively to a corresponding wheel a control torque of determined amplitude and sign, in such a way that the corresponding wheel imparts to the vehicle a drive force or a braking force in accordance with the control torque. The system includes a central unit (3) for managing vehicle displacement, the central unit (3) controlling all the electronic wheel control modules (23). The central unit (3) has a vehicle braking mode activated by a vehicle braking control signal having a given amplitude representing a total desired braking force for the fully electrically controlled wheels. In the braking mode, whatever the amplitude of the braking control signal, the central unit (3) controls all the electronic wheel control modules (23) in such a way that the sum of the longitudinal forces of all the wheels is a function of the amplitude of the braking control signal, the function being proportional, for example.
Abstract:
A ground connection for a vehicle comprising a wheel (1), a sliding suspension for a wheel carrier relative to a support (10) connected to the vehicle, the suspension comprising a substantially vertical pillar (8) fixed to the wheel carrier, the degree of freedom of suspension of the wheel carrier relative to the support (10) being permitted by the movement of the pillar in the guide means (11) connected to the support, means for driving the wheel by a first rotary electric machine (15) mounted in the wheel, the first electric machine driving the wheel by means of reversible reduction means, the reduction means comprising a ring gear (16) fixed to the wheel and a drive pinion (17) connected to the first machine and defining a reduction ratio between the speed of rotation of the first machine and the speed of rotation of the wheel, the reduction ratio being greater than 10, said ground connection having no mechanical service brake.
Abstract:
A vehicle (1) equipped with a tank (2) for storage of a fluid under pressure on the vehicle, the tank being connected to at least one vent channel (3 and 33), the vent channel leading to a discharge orifice (34), the vent channel being connected to the tank by means of at least one safety valve, wherein in that the safety valve is a thermal release valve (5), normally closed and capable of opening spontaneously under the effect of a rise in temperature, the safety valve being installed in a predefined zone of the vehicle and the discharge orifice being remote from the predefined zone.
Abstract:
A non-pneumatic resilient tire which derives its capacity to bear a load from laminated elements capable of supporting bending moments. The laminated elements include a stack of resilient sheets superposed and separated by a layer of rubber adhering to the latter, forming a beam capable of undergoing bending stress.
