Abstract:
Ethylene is oxidized into ethylene oxide by bringing a feed gas mixture, which contains the ethylene, oxygen and at least 1 vol. % of carbon dioxide as well as at least 0.5 vol. ppm of a chlorine-containing burning reaction decelerator and at least 1 vol. ppm as calculated in terms of nitrogen monoxide of a nitrogen oxide and/or a precursor thereof, into contact with a catalyst which carries silver and as a practically sole alkali metal, rubidium at an Rb/Ag atomic ratio of 2/1000-7/1000 on a fire-resistant carrier having a specific surface area of 1 m.sup.2 /g or smaller.
Abstract:
A delay signal generating circuit includes feedback loops and components for selectively setting the delay time of a delay unit in one of the loops. The circuit can be used to provide an adjustable delay to a signal being propagated therethrough, and the delay unit can be bypassed.
Abstract:
A gasification process for forming a gas mixture containing hydrogen wherein a hydrocarbon including a heavy residual oil is atomized with a mixture of an oxygen-containing gas and steam in an atomizing zone, the formed jet streams containing the atomized hydrocarbon drops are introduced to the catalyst bed while adjusting the residence time in the atomizing zone to 0.05 to 5 seconds, substantially without forming eddy currents and the reaction is carried out at a temperature of at least 850.degree. C. to form said gas mixture while avoiding deposition of solid carbon on said catalyst bed.
Abstract:
The present invention has a technical objective of providing a distinctive display format for machine-readable dot patterns which does not harm the aesthetics of images displayed on a display device. The dot pattern is made machine readable by providing the periphery of dots with a contrast control region and/or an anti-aliasing region which are distinguishable from the surrounding image. Thus enabled is the embedding of the two-dimensional codes which cannot be recognized by audiences yet machine readable on video or images on the screen of a display device. An audience can easily acquire information defined by the dot patterns using a digital camera, a video camera, a portable telephone camera, a web camera, or the like to image the screen of the display device or to capture the screen as data.
Abstract:
The technical subject is realizing a highly useful input-output device which can be used alone to independently input and output information, and, when connected with an information processing device, can function as an input device that depends on the applications of the information processing device. The input-output device comprises: a function of recognizing whether a connection with the information processing device through a connection unit is present by the connection recognition unit and transmitting a code value and/or a coordinate value converted by a processing unit to the information processing device through the connection unit; and a function of outputting the content data from the output unit or controlling operation based on the operation instruction when the connection recognition unit does not recognise a connection between the connection unit and the information processing device. The provided functions make the disclosed input-output device highly useful.
Abstract:
A printing medium that is capable of expressing vivid colors without increasing the number of colors and capable of suppressing a printing cost of a dot pattern printing, an information processing method, and an information processing device that use the printing medium are provided that make it possible to perform superposed printing of a graphic and a dot pattern with one color without using inks having different frequency characteristics. A dot pattern includes grid dots arranged in accordance with a predetermined rule for defining information with halftone dots that are superimposed and printed. The printing medium is printed in a way in which dots on the printing medium are detected from brightness information recorded in bitmap image data by a predetermined method and the dots are determined either as the grid dots that constitute the dot pattern or the halftone dots by an image analysis processing unit.
Abstract:
To realize a user-friendly medium and information output thereof by defining a plurality of information in the same region of a dot pattern printed on a surface of a medium, such as a map or the like, and selectively outputting the information through an imaging operation of an imaging unit. A dot pattern that is printed on a medium to be superimposed on a map or the like includes coordinate information and code information. Therefore, information corresponding to the coordinate information and information corresponding to the code information can be selectively and repetitively output.
Abstract:
Provided is a very usable and flexible broadcast control system that can use content that does not present in a set-top box by having a plurality of communication means, and can be easily operated by a user by using a paper controller printed with a dot pattern and a scanner remote controller. The broadcast control system is provided with a dot code reading device which has at least two communication means and optically reads the dot pattern formed on a medium, a first relay device for receiving the communication signal from the first communication means and controlling the broadcast receiver, and a second relay device for receiving the communication signal from the second communication means and transmitting to a server through a network.
Abstract:
A link table is generated, voice information is associated by dot patterns, and then, voice information associated with the dot pattern is reproduced from a speaker when the dot pattern is read by means of a scanner. In this manner, the dot pattern is printed on a surface of a material such as a picture book or a card, making it possible to play back voice information corresponding to a pattern or a story of a picture book and to play back voice information corresponding to a character described on the card. In addition, by means of a link table, new voice information can be associated with, dissociated from, or changed to, a new dot pattern.
