The present invention is directed to an epoxidized block copolymer composition comprising an epoxidized block copolymer (E) obtained by epoxidizing a block copolymer (C) comprising a polymer block (A) composed mainly of a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon compound and a polymer block (B) composed mainly of a conjugated diene compound or a product (D) of hydrogenation of the block copolymer (C). The epoxidized block copolymer (E) meets at least one of the following requisites: (1) having a molar ratio (R) of contained hydroxyl to epoxy ranging from 0.001 to 0.1, the molar ratio (R) being represented by the formula: R=[hydroxyl]/[epoxy] (wherein [hydroxyl] represents the amount, in terms of the number of moles, of hydroxyl contained per unit weight of the epoxidized block copolymer and [epoxy] represents the amount, in terms of the number of moles, of epoxy contained per unit weight of the epoxidized block copolymer); (2) having a gel content of not greater than 5% by weight; and (3) having a chloride ion content of not greater than 7 ppm.

On account of the minimized impurity content of the spherical silica microparticulates, the developer is effective for high-quality and high-speed duplication.

An antibacterial/antifungal inorganic matter is composited with wood by impregnating wood with a solution containing a silicon alkoxide and an antibacterial/antifungal organic silicon compound having a hydrolyzable alkoxysilyl group, and subjecting the silicon compounds within the cell walls (inter- and intracellular) spaces to hydrolysis at various temperatures and polycondensation. The same is prepared by treating wood with a siloxane oligomer and curing the oligomer. The antibacterial/antifungal component is prevented from being leached out.

An image formation apparatus for forming a full color image in the four colors of cyan, magenta, yellow and black has a optical ATDC sensor attached in a cyan developing device to control the toner density under optical ATDC. A black developing device has the toner density controlled by AIDC. A standard develop efficiency .eta.STD of the cyan developing device obtained as a result of the AIDC is compared with a develop efficiency .eta. of black toner. The toner supply amount of the black developing device is determined according to the comparison result to supply the toner. Thus, an image formation apparatus is provided that can detect at favorable accuracy the toner density of a developing device incorporating a developer of which the toner density cannot be detected using optical ATDC to supply a required amount of toner.

A peak waveform having a peak is generated in each light-emitting period of laser beam. For example, and a signal having a peak is synthesized with the image signals to generate the peak waveform. Thus, the laser is driven according to the peak waveforms so that the exposed portions on a photoconductor in correspondence to the peaks are exposed with a larger quantity of light at low densities. Then, the amount of the gamma correction can be decreased and the gradation characteristic can be stabilized.
