摘要： Electrochemical cells are disclosed that include electrodes comprising a composite that includes an active material, graphite and a binder. The amount of graphite in the composite is greater than about 20 volume percent of the total volume of the active material and graphite in the composite. The porosity of the composite is less than about 20%. The cells also comprise an electrolyte that includes a vinylene carbonate derivative or a halogenated ethylene carbonate derivative.

摘要： Novel peptide nucleic acids and novel linked peptide nucleic acids, form triple stranded structures with nucleic acids. The peptide nucleic acids include ligands such as naturally occurring nucleobases attached to the peptide backbone through a suitable linker. Other nucleobases including C-pyrimidines and iso-pyrimidines can be used as the ligands in Hoogsteen strands to increase binding affinity. Two peptide nucleic acid strands are joined together with a linker to form a bis-peptide nucleic acid. The individual strands of the peptide nucleic acids in the bis compounds can be oriented either parallel or antiparallel to each other.

摘要： A method for reducing the content of phytate and/or salts thereof, formed by phytic acid, in cereal grains, whereby the cereal grains are subjected to a combined wet steeping and dry steeping in at least two successive cycles in that the cereal grains are mixed with water or a water mixture to a water content in the cereal grains of 25-60%, the pH value is adjusted to pH 4-7, the mixture is heated to 35-60.degree. C. and is subjected to wet steeping for a period of 0.5-10 hours, eventual excess of water or water solution is drained, and the cereal grains are dry steeped for a period of 0.5-20 hours at a temperature of 35-60.degree. C., whereupon the cereal is finally dried. The cereal can be taken out of the process as whole grains, as flakes, as cut grains or as flour.

The web of material in traveling through processing or handling machinery may be effectively and desirably spray coated in-line by equipping the same with the apparatus of the present invention. 摘要： Polycyclic diamines, incorporating a basic framework similar to [3.3.3]propellane, and derivatives of the basic polycyclic diamines and a process for preparing same are provided. The diamines are prepared by subjecting bispyridine compounds to electroreductive coupling in an acidic solution. The polycyclic diamines and derivatives thereof are useful as chain extenders, crosslinking agents and curatives in various polymer systems.
