    摘要: The present invention relates to the preparation of a Cynara scolymus extract obtainable by fractioning on a resin. The process of the invention allows to obtain an extract, starting from the aerial parts of the plant Cynara scolymus, containing three classes of active principles, namely dicaffeoylquinic acids, luteolin and cynaropicrin glycosides, in a constant ratio. Cynaropicrin is stabilized by addition of precise amounts of sulfated amino acids or suitable thio-derivatives. These extracts have hypolipemizing, anti-dyspeptic and vascular anti-inflammatory activities. The extracts are mainly formulated in Enothera biennis oil or in oils rich in ω-3 and ω-6 acids which enhance the vascular activity.

    摘要: This invention relates to the combination of α-amylase inhibitors prepared from Phaseolus vulgaris with α-glucosidase inhibitors obtained from Salacia oblonga and other species. The α-amylase inhibitor is accompanied by a quantity of lectins that reduces the amount of glucose originating from the starches present in the diet, and considerably reduces the appetite after repeated administration. The combination with α-glucosidase inhibitors, such as extracts of Salacia or the thiosugars present in it, further reduce the blood glucose, acting synergically, and consequently reduce the synthesis of fats from carbohydrates.

    摘要: A polysaccharide of Echinacea angustifolia roots, having molecular weight of 1.3×105 Da and including rhamnose, arabinose, galactose and galacturonic acid in ratio 0.5:2.5:1.75:10.25, is recovered from spontaneous or cultivated Echinacea angustifolia roots by means process including the following steps: a) depriving the roots of non polysaccharidic constituents by extraction with solvent; b)extracting the polysaccharidic fraction from the roots as directly obtained from the preceding step; c) isolating the polysaccharide by chromatography of the polysaccharidic fraction. Due to its immune-stimulating properties, the polysaccharide can be used for the preparation of medicaments, food supplements or nutraceutical compositions to administer whenever it is desirable to strenghthen the immune system body defenses.

    摘要: Methods for treating and preventing mucositis, in particular mucositis following the administration of chemotherapy drugs or a combination of said drugs with radiotherapy, are disclosed herein. More specifically, disclosed herein is the administration of a therapeutically effective amount of at least one of an anthocyanoside, a proanthocyanidin, or an extract containing at least one of an anthocyanoside or a proanthocyanidin for the treatment or prevention of mucositis. The therapeutically effective amount of the anthocyanoside, proanthocyanidin or extract can be administered alone or in combination with a therapeutically effective amount of at least one of an anti-inflammatory agent, immunomodulating agent, analgesic, antimicrobial agent or antifungal agent. Also disclosed herein are pharmaceutical compositions for treating and preventing mucositis.
