Abstract: A transmission apparatus includes a signal processing circuit configured to obtain information data bits to be transmitted; add known information data bits to the information data bits to generate first data blocks; perform error-correction coding on the first data blocks to generate first coded data blocks including parity data blocks such that the first coded data blocks satisfy a first code rate; remove the known information data bits from the first coded data blocks to generate second coded data blocks, the second coded data blocks satisfying a second code rate different from the first code rate; and modulate the second coded data blocks using a modulation scheme to generate a modulated signal, which is then transmitted. A number of the known information data bits depends on a number of the information data bits such that the first code rate is fixed regardless of the number of the information data bits.

Abstract: By a transmission method according to one aspect of the present disclosure, in a broadcasting system that generates a first broadcasting signal and a second broadcasting signal by performing multi-antenna encoding on program data, and wirelessly transmits a first broadcasting signal and a second broadcasting signal, a first transmit station transmits the first broadcasting signal, a second transmit station transmits the second broadcasting signal, the first transmit station and the second transmit station transmit the first broadcasting signal and the second broadcasting signal to an overlapping area at an identical time using an overlapping frequency band, polarized wave transmitted from the first transmit station differs from polarized wave transmitted from the second transmit station, and arrangement of the first transmit station differs from arrangement of the second transmit station.

Abstract: A transmission method includes mapping processing, phase change processing, and transmission processing. In the mapping processing, a plurality of first modulation signals and a plurality of second modulation signals are generated using a first mapping scheme, and a plurality of third modulation signals and a plurality of fourth modulation signals are generated using a second mapping scheme. In the phase change processing, a phase change is performed on the plurality of second modulation signals and the plurality of fourth modulation signals using all N kinds of phases. In the transmission processing, the first modulation signals and the second modulation signals are respectively transmitted at a same frequency and a same time from different antennas, and the third modulation signals and the fourth modulation signals are respectively transmitted at a same frequency and a same time from the different antennas.
