摘要: In a magnetic recording medium, surface roughness of a glass substrate and the variation of the surface roughness are suppressed to the predetermined range. Namely, the surface roughness (Rmax, Ra, Rq) and the relation (Rmax/Ra) between Rmax and Ra are restricted to the predetermined range. In this event, Ra is representative of a center-line mean roughness, Rmax is defined as a maximum height representative of a difference between a highest point and a lowest point and Rq is representative of a root mean square roughness. Thereby, crystal grains of an underlying layer and a magnetic layer formed thereon are equalized. Specifically, the surface roughness is specified by Rmax≦15 nm, Ra≦1 nm and Rq≦1.5 nm. Further, the ratio between the surface roughness Rmax and the surface roughness Ra is specified by Rmax/Ra≦30.

摘要: An air bag device mounted on a steering wheel comprises a holding unit connected to a boss portion of the steering wheel. An inflater is held by the holding unit. The inflater includes a gas ejection portion. First and second fabrics have peripheral portions sewed together to constitute a bag structure. A gas inlet opening is formed in the first fabric. The gas inlet opening has the gas ejection portion of the inflater passed therethrough, so that the gas inlet opening is exposed to the interior of the bag structure. A third fabric is smaller in size than the first and second fabrics. The third fabric is installed in the bag structure in a manner to cover over the gas ejection portion of the inflater. A plurality of sewed points are provided by which the first and third fabrics are sewed together. A plurality of gas flow passages are provided between the first and third fabrics. Each gas flow passage is defined between neighboring two of the sewed points. A vent opening extends through one of the sewed points to provide a communication between a major portion of the interior of the bag structure and the outside of the same.

摘要: Fixtures and a fitting structure for eyeglass lens are provided wherein the eyeglass lens is easily fitted while preventing cracks in the eyeglass lens during the fitting and preventing loosening of the eyeglass lens during being used. Tapped holes are formed at the respective locations in the inside and outside rims of the eyeglass lens so as to be fitted by pipe screws having threads on at least the internal peripheral faces thereof. A fitting portion of a bridge or a fitting portion of an end piece is located over the top surface of the eyeglass lens so that a hole at the end of the fitting portion is aligned with the tapped hole of the eyeglass lens. Setscrews are inserted into the holes of the fitting portions from the topside of the eyeglass lens so as to be screwed and tightened with the threads in the internal side of the pipe screws. When the setscrew is tightened, the pipe screw is expanded so as to increase the diameter thereof, so that the thread on the external peripheral surface of the pipe screw is tightly pressed onto the internal surface of the tapped hole in the eyeglass lens.

摘要: A picture image monitoring system wherein picture images of a plurality of monitoring object areas and difference degree information indicative of a rate of a picture image change of each monitoring object area can be transmitted efficiently to a remote location by way of a communication channel and a monitoring operation of the monitoring object areas can be performed accurately and efficiently at the remote location. A transmitting side terminal apparatus and a receiving side terminal apparatus are interconnected by a communication channel. At the transmitting side terminal apparatus, a picture image signal of a monitoring object area photographed is compressed while difference degree information and an identifier are produced, and they are transmitted to the receiving side terminal apparatus by way of a communication line. At the receiving side terminal apparatus, received compressed picture image data, difference degree information and an identifier are used to effect detection of a picture image change of a monitoring object area and desired monitoring control.
