    摘要: Thermoplastic polyphosphonatocarbonate prepared by polycondensing at least one aromatic dihydroxy compound with a diaryl carbonate and a phosphonic acid diaryl ester in the presence of a basic polycondensation catalyst at a temperature of from 80.degree. to 340.degree. and under a pressure of 600 to 0.1 mm Hg in an inert gaseous atmosphere, the molar ratio of diaryl carbonate to phosphonic diaryl ester being from 5:95 to 95:5 and the molar ratio of aromatic dihydroxy compound to the sum of diaryl carbonate and phosphonic acid diaryl ester being from 0.91:1 to 0.99:1, and following polycondensation, neutralizing said basic catalyst.

    摘要: The present invention relates to flame resistant aromatic polycarbonate molding compositions which are blends containing between about 0.1 to 15 wt.% of sulphur. The blends of the present invention may also contain up to about 30 wt.% of glass fibers. The present invention also relates to improving the flame resistance of polycarbonate molding compositions by physically incorporating 0.1 to 15 wt.% of sulphur therein.

    摘要: The invention relates to a thermoplastic moulding composition comprising an aromatic high-molecular weight polycarbonate based on a diphenol, with a weight-average molecular weight (M.sub.w) of at least 10,000 and from 0.5 to 5% by weight, relative to the high molecular weight polycarbonate, of a polycarbonate which has an M.sub.w of from 1,200 to 9,000 and which corresponds to the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein "E" represents a radical of the formula (II): ##STR2## in which THE GROUPS R' are identical and denote H or halogenx is an integer of from 7 to 24"Z" is a divalent aromatic radical, and"n", the degree of polymerization, results from the M.sub.w between 1,200 and 9,000.

    摘要: High molecular weight aromatic polycarbonates having molecular weights M.sub.w (weight average) of between about 10,000 and 200,000, which are based on diphenols and monofunctional chain stoppers, which correspond to the general formula ##STR1## in which Z denotes the radical of a diphenol,n denotes an integer from 20 to 400,E denotes ##STR2## m is 0 or 1 and R denotes a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1 to C.sub.3 alkyl group, and in which between about 0.5 and 5 mol % of Z are radicals of aromatic dihydroxyketones. These polycarbonates share mechanical and thermal properties with known polycarbonates but in addition are suitable for crosslinking, for example in the presence of photoinitiators and optionally photo-reducing agents and under irradiation with UV light. When crosslinked they are resistant to organic solvents and insensitive to stress-cracking, and have particularly good flame-repellent properties when additionally incorporating flameproofing agents.
