Abstract:
The present invention provides a drum type refining or washing apparatus in which the refining or washing efficiency of a pulp suspension or a food suspension is remarkably enhanced by the filtration function of a rotary drum and by the filtrate sucking force of a filtrate receptive cell.A drum type refining or washing apparatus in which a filtrate receptive chamber 34 facing the outer peripheral surface of a rotary drum 1 which is laterally installed, is defined by a plurality of filtrate receptive cells 31 arranged in the peripheral direction of the rotary drum 1, each filtrate receptive cell 31 being provided at one end thereof on the side opposite to the rotating direction of the rotary drum 1 with a discharge port 32 for discharging the filtrate received in the filtrate receptive chamber 34 of the filtrate receptive cell 31 through the rotary drum forming wall into the liquid vessel 11, the filtrate in the filtrate receptive chamber 34 of the filtrate receptive cell 31 being discharged in the liquid vessel 11 through the discharge port 32 during an escaping process of the filtrate receptive cell 31 onto the liquid surface 17 of the liquid vessel 11 in accordance with rotation of the rotary drum 1, discharge of the filtrate causing generation of a filtrate sucking force directing toward the inside of the filtrate receptive chamber 34 at the rotary drum forming wall which the filtrate receptive chamber 34 of the filtrate receptive cell 31 faces.

In addition, a filtering machine characterized in being constituted with at least a mechanism for partitioning inside and outside portions by providing the filter cloth of this invention around a drum or a disc-like structural member, a mechanism for passing water through the filter cloth by supplying unfiltered water to the partitioned outside or inside portion, a mechanism for washing the filter cloth from the unfiltered water supply side and/or the other side and a mechanism for discharging concentrated water produced by the washing.
Abstract:
A control system for the vacuum cut-off valve of a rotating disc or drum filter is provided. The control system includes an actuator that is connected to the vacuum cut-off valve for adjusting the rotation of the vacuum cut-off valve with respect to the core. The actuator is linked to a controller which receives communications from a vacuum sensor that senses the level of vacuum inside the vacuum box. The controller sends signals to the actuator to either move the vacuum cut-off valve forward (or to a higher position) or rearward (or to a lower position) in response to the vacuum or pressure level inside the vacuum box.
Abstract:
The apparatus is a washer, thickener and classifier for recovering solids from liquids including a truncated conical screen with walls typically sixty degrees from the horizontal and formed of filter media. Stock sprayer assemblies rotate about a longitudinal axis of said conical screen and direct stock, particularly deink paper stock, onto the walls of the conical screen. Wash fluid sprayer assemblies, including high impact shower nozzles, direct wash fluid onto the stock on the walls of the conical screen. The wash fluid cleans the stock, with the unwanted solids and contaminants passing through the conical screen to the discharge pipes. The wash fluid similarly washes the cleaned stock through the exit formed at the truncated portion formed at the apex of the conical screen for subsequent processing.
Abstract:
A vacuum filter device is disclosed which includes a filter body which is adapted to receive in fluid-tight, sealed relationship a pair of closed containers for solutions to be filtered by a membrane filter positioned within the filter body. A vacuum port in the filter body communicates with the downstream side of the membrane and a venting passageway also located in the filter body communicates with the closed sample container to serve as a vent to atmospheric pressure. The venting passageway is made of an air permeable hydrophobic filter or preferably a small enough opening to prevent the sample solutions from leaking out of the device during normal use.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a wet process flue gas desulfurization apparatus and method for use with a tank oxidation system. The apparatus comprises: an absorption tower having a slurry containing a calcium compound which is supplied to the bottom tank, a circulation pump for feeding the slurry in the tank into a flue gas inlet in an upper part of the absorption tank to be in contact with flue gas, and air feed means for feeding air for oxidizing into the tank, thereby absorbing and oxidizing sulfur dioxide in the flue gas by the slurry to obtain gypsum as a byproduct, wherein a vacuum type belt filter is disposed along an outer surface of a side wall of the absorption tower, and part of the slurry that is discharged from the circulation pump is led into the belt filter to be dehydrated, thereby separating and recovering gypsum.
Abstract:
A horizontal endless belt vacuum filter comprises an endless belt pierced, in its central part, with holes moving above the upper opening of a longitudinal vacuum and extending beneath the upper side of the conveyor belt. An endless filtering medium passes over guide rollers and is applied on the upper side of the conveyor belt, in order to receive the mass to be filtered. The vacuum box is mounted to pivot, as a whole, about a longitudinal axis offset laterally on one side of the conveyor belt. This vacuum box is borne by the inner ends of transverse bars which are articulated on horizontally aligned bearings materializing the pivot axis and which bear, at their outer ends, a manifold. This manifold is connected on the one hand to the vacuum box, via at least one connecting pipe, and on the other hand to the source of vacuum, by at least one dismountable coupling member.
Abstract:
A filtration apparatus for simultaneously performing a plurality of filtering operations. A plurality of filters are respectively situated beneath a plurality of reservoir cavities for supplying liquid to be filtered to the filters to pass therethrough, and a plurality of collection vials are respectively situated beneath the filters for receiving the filtrate therefrom. The entire apparatus can be inverted as a unit. A plurality of seals respectively seal the reservoir cavities with respect to the filters in such a way that during the washing operations washing liquid can wash the margins of the filters.
