Abstract: Systems and methods for identifying available charging stations (e.g., charging stations available to be used by an electric vehicle) and/or determining travel routes for electric vehicles are described. In some embodiments, the systems and methods receive a request to find an available charging station, determine a state of charge for an electric vehicle associated with the request, identifies one or more available charging stations located within a suitable distance to the electric vehicle, the suitable distance based on the determined state of the charge for the electric vehicle, and present information to the electric vehicle, or an associated mobile device, that indicates the identified charging stations.

Abstract: A wireless power supply system includes a power transmission device having a power transmission coil and a power receiving device having a power receiving coil. The power transmission coil transmits electric power to the power receiving coil via a wireless connection, so as to supply the electric power to a battery installed in the power receiving device. The power transmission device controls electric power supplied to the power transmission coil according to a transmission power command value. The power receiving device calculates a power transmission efficiency based on the electric power supplied to the electrical load and the transmission power command value and stops supplying the electric power when the power transmission efficiency falls to a threshold efficiency or less. The power transmission device regulates the output power when a current flowing through the power transmission coil exceeds a threshold current.

Abstract: A bicycle includes a frame including first and second segments pivotable relative to each other between a folded position and an unfolded position. A magnet is fixed relative to the first segment. An electromagnet is fixed relative to the second segment and disposed in a magnetic field of the magnet when the frame is in the folded position. A controller is configured to power the electromagnet to repel the magnet to unfold the frame.

Abstract: A system for reprogramming a vehicle controller includes: a plurality of controllers equipped in a vehicle; a battery configured to provide operation power to the plurality of controllers; and a charging control device configured to sense a connection with a charger providing charging power from an external power source to the battery, request latest software version information corresponding to each of the plurality of controllers from the charger through power-line communication (PLC) while the charging power is provided from the charger to the battery, confirm the requested latest software version information, receive upgrade data from the charger, and transmit the received upgrade data to the plurality of controllers. The charging control device assigns different communication frequency bands to the plurality of controllers, respectively, for communicating with the plurality of controllers using PLC, and transmits the upgrade data using the respective communication frequency band assigned to the plurality of controllers.

Abstract: A battery management system for a vehicle includes a controller programmed to apply a current pulse to reverse a current flow through a battery to reduce or remove cell polarization. After the current pulse, an open-circuit voltage is measured as the terminal voltage of the battery. The settling time for the terminal voltage to approach the open-circuit voltage is reduced after the current pulse. The magnitude of the current pulse is based on a battery state of charge, a battery temperature, and a current magnitude prior to the current pulse.

Abstract: A method for error detection during charging of an energy storage system in a vehicle is provided, the vehicle including an electric machine which is arranged for propulsion of the vehicle. The method includes requesting a charging pattern from an external power supply, by a vehicle control unit, upon connection of the energy storage system to the external power supply; and supplying the charging pattern to the energy storage system by an external charging control unit forming part of the external power supply. The method furthermore includes providing a predetermined modulation of the requested charging pattern; evaluating whether the charging pattern supplied to the energy storage system includes the predetermined modulation; and, if this is not the case, indicating that the charging of the energy storage system is erroneous. An arrangement for error detection during charging of an energy storage system, and a vehicle including an electric machine and having such an arrangement are also provided.
