Abstract:
A locking arrangement for a door system of a transit vehicle includes a combination of a lock mechanism and an electromagnetic brake. The lock mechanism enables positive locking of at least one door but does not require substantial contact between moving and stationary lock elements. The lock mechanism is connected with the manual release means for door opening during an emergency. The electromagnetic brake maintains door seal compression in the closed and locked condition which improves sealing capabilities and provides for reliable lock mechanism operation. Such combination provides locking redundancy and meets various requirements regarding annunciation and manual release operation.
Abstract:
An electromagnetic frictionally engaged clutch for arranging inside a drive train connecting a drive motor and a vehicle door or flap. The arrangement ensures that the vehicle door is securely held in each intermediate position, when the clutch is in an idle state, while maintaining the possibility of a manual emergency actuation of the vehicle door. The rotor includes at least one permanent magnet in addition to the electric coil, such that when a current does not pass through the coil, the armature disk is pressed against the friction lining of the rotor, with a force which is strong enough for the vehicle door or vehicle flap to securely remain in position occupied when the clutch is an idle state, and for the friction engagement between the armature disk and the friction lining to be overcome when the vehicle door or vehicle flap is subsequently manually actuated.
Abstract:
A cable drive assembly for opening and closing a sliding vehicle door has first and second drums that are drivingly connected to each other via a tension spring that biases the drums in opposite directions. The drums include a catch that holds the first and second drums in a cocked condition where the spring is tensioned to provide slack in a closed loop cable to facilitate inserting a traveler attached to the cable into a track. The cocked drums are manually rotated in a drum housing in one direction to move the traveler and insert it into the track. After the traveler is inserted, the cocked drums are manually rotated in the opposite direction. This releases the catch so that the tensioned spring takes up the slack in the closed loop cable.
Abstract:
The present powered sliding device includes a wire drum (16) connected to a vehicle sliding door (11) through wire cables (18, 19), a motor (14) for rotating the wire drum, a clutch mechanism (25) provided between the motor and the wire drum, a first rotational member (85) rotated integrally with the wire drum, first detection means (86) for detecting the rotation of the first rotational member, and a housing (74). The housing includes a first space (76) accommodating the wired drum and communicating with the outside of the housing through the wire cables and a second space accommodating the first rotational member and the first detection means, and a housing body (73) provided between the first space and the second space for zoning the first space and the second space.
Abstract:
An unlock mechanism for a rotary door operator of a transit vehicle includes a pivotally disposed unlock member adapted for rotating a lock member into an unlock position and activating a valve for discharging the fluid pressure from the drive cylinder to enable manual opening of the door. A spring is provided for biasing the unlock member to a non-activated position. The unlock member may be activated either with a cable or a lever handle. A lock sensing switch provides a feedback on the lock condition to the transit vehicle control system. Additionally, a guiding bracket is provided for securing the cable in proximity of the unlock member.
Abstract:
An actuator for driving an operating mechanism that operates an operated member of a vehicle by means of a driving of an electric drive source includes a housing for supporting the electric drive source, a detecting means for detecting an operation status of the operated member or the operating mechanism, a switch connector including an output terminal provided as an electric path from the detecting means, and a power feeding connector formed on the housing and including an input terminal provided as an electric path to the electric drive source and a first engaging portion onto which the switch connector is fit.
Abstract:
A side sliding door apparatus for an electric railcar includes two sliding doors movably supported by a horizontal door rail to open and close an entrance of the electric railcar. The side sliding door apparatus includes an actuator for actuating the sliding door, a locking mechanism for locking the sliding door in a closed state, and an unlocking mechanism for unlocking the sliding door locked by the locking mechanism. The actuator, the locking mechanism, and the unlocking mechanism are provided in each of the two sliding doors. The right and left actuators operate independently from each other, and thus, even if the actuator for one sliding door breaks down, the other sliding door still can be used.
Abstract:
A vehicle door cinching apparatus for assisting the final closing motion of a sliding vehicle door includes an electromagnet, a ferrous metal plate, a cinch drive and a controller. The electromagnet mounts on either an outer periphery of a vehicle sliding door or an inner periphery of a vehicle sliding door frame that's shaped to receive the sliding door as the door moves along a final inward cinching portion of a door path to a final closed position within the door frame. The plate is supported on the other of the outer periphery of the door and the inner periphery of the door frame in a position where the plate can magnetically engage the electromagnet when the door is disposed along the final cinching portion of the door path. Whichever of the plate and electromagnet is supported on the inner periphery of the door frame is also supported for lateral movement in a direction generally parallel to the cinching portion of the door path. According to the method, the cinch drive moves whichever of the electromagnet and plate is supported on the inner periphery of the door frame to drive the door along the final cinching portion of the door path and into the final closed position. The controller de-energizes the electromagnet and releases the door from the cinching apparatus once the door has reached its final closed position.
Abstract:
An opening and closing control system for an opening-closing member comprises an opening and closing mechanism for opening and closing the opening-closing member, an actuator for operating the opening and closing mechanism, an electromagnetic clutch for controlling a torque transmission by connecting and disconnecting the actuator and the mechanism, an opening and closing angle detecting means for detecting an opening and a closing angle of the opening-closing member relative to the vehicle, and a control means for controlling an electric power supplied to the electromagnetic clutch based on a detected result from the opening and closing angle detecting means and controlling an electric power supplied to the actuator, in which a supporting force required for supporting the opening-closing member is increased, and the control means for decreasing the electric power supplied to the electromagnetic clutch in accordance the opening-closing operation from an intermediate position to an opened position or a closed position.
Abstract:
A modular drive assembly for a sliding door, comprising: a guide track having a hinge slidably received therein; a pair of pulleys disposed on either end of the guide track; a pair of cables each having an end that is secured to the hinge and the other end is secured to a cable drum of a motor drive unit mounted to the guide track, the motor drive unit being configured to rotate the cable drum, wherein the cable drum is also capable of freely rotating within the motor drive unit when the motor drive unit is not rotating the cable drum, wherein rotation of the cable drum causes the hinge to move in the guide track as one of the cables wraps onto the cable drum while the other one of the cables wraps off of the cable drum.
