    Abstract: An LED module, includes a heat sink, an LEDs mounted on a side of the heat sink and a light guide plate spaced from the LED light source. A flexible light guiding tube is disposed between the light guide plate and the LED light source. The flexible light guiding tube has an first end. A bore diameter of the outmost end of the first end is larger than or equal to a diameter of a top end of the LED light source. The outmost end covers the top end of the LEDs therein. Compared to the prior art, The LED module of the present disclosure has high luminous efficiency and good thermal performance.

    Abstract: In one aspect, there is provided an apparatus. The apparatus may include a waveguide layer to guide an optical beam, and a lenslet layer, coupled to a surface of the waveguide layer, to focus a portion of the optical beam. The apparatus may further include a first active layer, coupled to another surface of the waveguide layer, to allow the portion of the optical beam to decouple from the waveguide layer by passing through the first active layer in at least one selectable region of the first active layer. The apparatus may further include a redirecting layer, coupled to or proximate to the first active layer, to redirect the portion of the optical beam decoupled from the waveguide towards the lenslet layer.

    Abstract: A coupling element (14) for use in a touch-sensitive apparatus is arranged to transfer light between an electro-optical device (2) and a panel (4) for light transmission. The electro-optical device (2) is an emitter or a detector and has an operative solid angle given by orthogonal device divergence angles. The coupling element (14) is an optical component with a first light transmission surface (21) for facing the electro-optical device (2), and a second light transmission surface (22) for mounting on the panel (4). The coupling element (14) has an optical structure (23) that directs the light between the first and second light transmission surfaces (21, 22) by one or more reflections while expanding one device divergence angle (αx) into a component divergence angle at the second light transmission surface (22). Thereby, the component divergence angle defines a divergence (φp) in the plane of the panel (4) with respect to light propagating by internal reflections inside the light transmissive panel (4).

    Abstract: A backlight module comprising a lamp strip (10), a light guide plate (20), a quantum dot glass tube (30) and a fixing part (40). The fixing part (40) is a hollow structure. The quantum dot glass tube (30) being provided in the cavity of the fixing part (40) which is positioned between the lame strip (10) and the light guide plate (20). One side wall of the fixing part (40) is abutting on the frame of the lamp strip (10), and the other side wall of the fixing part (40) is engaging with the light guide plate (20).     Abstract: Infrared-style touch screens are described having light emission means and light detection means along only two opposing sides of a touch input area, which are nevertheless able to detect and locate a touch object in two dimensions. Certain embodiments use an edge-blurring algorithm to determine the second coordinate, while other embodiments use a form of stereo-scopic vision to determine both coordinates by triangulation. These touch screens have minimal bezel width along two opposing sides of the touch input area, and also offer cost reductions associated with components and product assembly and manufacturing.
