摘要: A mammography system includes a biopsy guidance system that employs a simplified robot arm support, to enable previously unusable locations for the mounting of the biopsy device directly to the mammography system, such as on a compression paddle, combined with a vision guidance and control system. The vision system operates to determine the position of the biopsy device and the biopsy needle tip, as well as to control the movement/operation of the biopsy guidance system, such as movement to the final end-pose or pre-firing position of the biopsy device to perform the biopsy procedure. The vision system utilizes one or more cameras to visually determine the position the biopsy device relative to a region of interest being biopsied within the required tolerances for the biopsy procedure without the need for precise positional information to be provided by the biopsy guidance system to the mammography system.

摘要: While performing a tomosynthesis procedure, the breast of a patient is compressed between two compression elements to create an imaging condition. Foam is secured to the rigid substrate of a one of the compression elements. The patient's chest wall is aligned with the leading edge surface of the foam. The inner side of the breast is disposed proximate the lateral edge surface of the foam and the outer side of the breast is disposed proximate the outer lateral edge surface of the foam. A mid-plane is disposed between the inner and outer lateral edge surfaces of the foam. An interface connects a leading edge surface of the foam and compressive surfaces. A portion of the leading edge surface which is aligned with the mid-plane is incompletely compressed.

摘要: This document relates to technologies of projecting an incision marker onto a patient using a movable gantry carrying a medical imaging system and at least one laser which is adjustable relative to the gantry. The medical imaging system is used for capturing a fluoroscopic or x-ray image of at least a part of the patient from a viewing direction. Then a virtual marker is set in the captured image in order to indicate a point or region of interest, for example as a point or at least one line of an incision. Then the laser is used to indicate, from a projection direction different from the viewing direction, the point or region of interest onto the surface of the patient, thus making the point or region of interest visible from the outside.

摘要: A method of determining performance characteristics of a breast compression paddle utilized in a breast imaging system includes receiving a force application signal, wherein the force application signal is associated with an application of a compressive force by the breast imaging system with the breast compression paddle to a breast of a patient. The method applies the force application signal to an algorithm to obtain a reduction value. The reduction value is subtracted from a known paddle performance value for the breast compression paddle to obtain an updated paddle performance value for the breast compression paddle.

摘要: A table system for use with an imaging device includes a base portion that supports the table system over a support surface, a patient support including a platform for supporting a patient in a standing position and a bed for supporting the patient in a lying position, a linkage portion coupled between the base portion and the patient support that is pivotable with respect to both the base portion and the patient support, a first drive mechanism that drives the pivoting of the patient support with respect to the linkage portion, and a second drive mechanism that drives the pivoting of the linkage portion with respect to the base portion, the first and second drive mechanisms moving the patient support between a vertical position in which the platform is substantially parallel to the support surface and a horizontal position in which the bed is substantially parallel to the support surface.

摘要: A patient table adapted for use in association with an MR scanner for neonatal infants is provided. The patient table has an extendable patient bed attached to and extendable from the patient table. The patient bed may be at least partially inserted into an MR scanner without requiring the patient table to enter the MR scanner. A transport mechanism is on the underside of the patient table so that it may be readily moved over the floor on which it rests. The patient table includes a latching mechanism that may operate to releasably attach the patient table to a patient table docking assembly. The docking assembly is operative to selectively move the patient table towards, into and away from the MR scanner.
