    Abstract: A number of variations may include a product comprising an electrical machine operatively connected to a driveline module comprising a gear train having a fixed gear ratio, a first planetary gear set having multiple gear ratios operatively connected to the gear train, a second planetary gear set having a fixed gear ratio operatively connected to the first planetary gear set, and a synchronizer, wherein the synchronizer is operatively connected to the first planetary gear set and is positioned between the first and second planetary gear set; a differential operatively connected to the second planetary gear set; wherein the electrical machine selectively transmits power to the differential through the gear train, the first planetary gear set, the synchronizer, and the second planetary gear set, and wherein the synchronizer is constructed and arranged to shift the driveline module into a high range mode, a low range mode, and a neutral mode.

    Abstract: A power transmitting component with a differential assembly and a planetary reduction that has a plurality of compound planet gears. Each of the compound planet gears is rotatable about a rotary planet axis and has first and second planet gears that are nonrotatably coupled to one another and spaced axially apart from one another along an associated one of the rotary planet axes. The rotary planet axes are disposed concentrically about a rotational axis of the input to the planetary reduction. Each of the first planet gears is meshingly engaged to the input of the planetary reduction, while each of second planet gears is meshingly engaged with a stationary ring gear. The differential assembly receives rotary power from the planetary reduction and has first and second differential outputs that are disposed along the rotational axis between the first and second planet gears.

    Abstract: A disconnect assembly for translating torque to shafts of a driveline. A clutch is disposed in torque translating relationship between the shafts and is movable between an engaged configuration wherein torque is translated, and a disengaged configuration wherein torque is interrupted. An actuator includes a coil that generates a first magnetic field. A slider is movable between a first stable position and a second stable position, with an armature operatively attached to the slider. The armature has a magnetic polarity pattern defined by a plurality of north and south magnetic pole regions facing the coil. The pattern configured such that predetermined changes in the magnetic field generated by the coil urge the slider from one of the stable positions to the other of the stable positions so as to cause corresponding movement of the clutch assembly between the configurations to selectively translate rotational torque between the shafts of the driveline.

    Abstract: A transfer case (30) and a method of assembly in an all-wheel drive vehicle can include a range shifting assembly (60) for shifting between a low-range and high-range drive mode, a normally disengaged clutch assembly (80) for transferring drive torque to a first and second driveline, a clutch actuator (88), and an actuating gear (48). The clutch actuator (88) can be moveable between an expanded position and a contracted position and engageable with the clutch assembly (80) for engaging the clutch assembly (80) when in the expanded position. The actuating gear (48) can be reversibly rotatable through a predetermined angular arc of movement for operating the clutch actuator (88) between the contracted and expanded position for actuating the clutch assembly (80) and for shifting the range shifting assembly (60) between a low-range drive mode and a high-range mode when the clutch assembly (80) is in the disengaged position.

The main shaft is rotatably disposed in the housing, and with the housing cooperatively defines an axis of rotation. The output shaft is disposed at least in part in the housing and is rotatable about the axis. The electric motor is disposed in the housing and has a rotor centered on and rotatable about the axis. The first planetary gear set is centered on the axis and provides a first speed reduction ratio between the rotor and a second planetary gear set.     Abstract: A rotary coupling (200) for an all-wheel drive vehicle includes a housing (210), an input part (212), an output part (214), and a clutch (220) disposed within a clutch area (222) of the housing (210) and is movable between an engaged position and a disengaged position to change an amount of torque transferred from the input part (212) to the output part (214). A fluid reservoir (260) is defined in the housing (210). A lubrication valve (250) is movable between an open position and a closed position for controlling supply of a fluid from the fluid reservoir (260) to the clutch area (222) of the housing (210). An actuator (238) is connected to the clutch (220) to move the clutch (220) between the engaged position and the disengaged position and connected to the lubrication valve (250) to move the lubrication valve (250) between the open position and the closed position.
