Abstract:
A hydrocarbon conversion process comprises contacting a renewable feedstock under hydroprocessing conditions with supported catalyst comprising at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Group VIII metals, Group VIB metals to form oleochemicals such as fatty alcohols, esters, and normal paraffins. Advantageously, the reaction conditions can be selected to directly convert the renewable feedstock to the desired product(s).
Abstract:
A reforming process using a medium pore zeolite under conditions to facilitate the conversion of C8 paraffinic compounds to para-xylene is provided. Para-xylene is produced at greater than thermodynamic equilibrium concentrations using the process.
Abstract:
A process for isomerizing light paraffins using a catalyst comprising an STI-type zeolite and at least one Group VIII metal. It has been found that the catalyst can selectively convert C6 paraffins into the more favorable higher octane C6 isomer, namely 2,3-dimethylbutane (RON=105), over the less favorable C6 isomer, namely octane 2,2-dimethylbutane (RON=94).
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a hydroisomerization process using a new crystalline molecular sieve designated SSZ-81, which is synthesized using a structure directing agent selected from 1,5-bis(1-azonia-bicyclo[2.2.2]octane)pentane dications, 1,5-bis(1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane)pentane dications, and mixtures thereof.
Abstract:
A process of upgrading a heavy hydrocarbon feedstock comprising contacting a heavy hydrocarbon feedstock with a catalyst in the presence of hydrogen in a reactor system, containing the catalyst as the only catalyst, wherein the catalyst, is prepared by sulfiding a catalyst precursor obtained by mixing at reaction conditions, to form a precipitate or cogel, at least a Promoter metal compound in solution; at least a Group VIB metal compound in solution; and, at least an organic oxygen containing ligand in solution, and thereby producing a fuel product.
Abstract:
A process is disclosed for preparing a zinc-containing molecular sieve having IFR framework topology and having zinc atoms in its crystal framework, said process comprising: (a) preparing an aqueous mixture containing sources of silicon oxide, zinc oxide, an alkali metal, and an N-benzyl-1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane cation having an anionic counterion which is not detrimental to the formation of the molecular sieve; and (b) maintaining the aqueous mixture under conditions sufficient to form crystals of the molecular sieve.
Abstract:
Olefins and alcohols present in Fischer-Tropsch products are converted to primary and secondary alkyl alcohols having at least four carbons through acid catalyzed etherification and hydrolysis reactions. The alcohols are added to a highly isoparaffinic distillate fuel blend, improving the lubricity of the mixture, and forming a distillate fuel with improved lubricity.
